誦讀 耶利米書 第38-41章 (感謝好牧人網站提供和合本聖經誦讀)
耶利米被擲入井中
38:1 [NASB] Now Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah heard the words that Jeremiah was speaking to all the people, saying,
38:2 [NASB] "Thus says the LORD, 'He who stays in this city will die by the sword and by famine and by pestilence, but he who goes out to the Chaldeans will live and have his {own} life as booty and stay alive.'
38:3 [NASB] "Thus says the LORD, 'This city will certainly be given into the hand of the army of the king of Babylon and he will capture it.'"
38:4 [NASB] Then the officials said to the king, "Now let this man be put to death, inasmuch as he is discouraging the men of war who are left in this city and all the people, by speaking such words to them; for this man is not seeking the well-being of this people but rather their harm."
38:5 [NASB] So King Zedekiah said, "Behold, he is in your hands; for the king can {do} nothing against you."
38:6 [NASB] Then they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern {of} Malchijah the king's son, which was in the court of the guardhouse; and they let Jeremiah down with ropes. Now in the cistern there was no water but only mud, and Jeremiah sank into the mud.
38:7 [NASB] But Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, a eunuch, while he was in the king's palace, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern. Now the king was sitting in the Gate of Benjamin;
38:8 [NASB] and Ebed-melech went out from the king's palace and spoke to the king, saying,
38:9 [NASB] "My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet whom they have cast into the cistern; and he will die right where he is because of the famine, for there is no more bread in the city."
38:10 [NASB] Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, "Take thirty men from here under your authority and bring up Jeremiah the prophet from the cistern before he dies."
38:11 [NASB] So Ebed-melech took the men under his authority and went into the king's palace to {a place} beneath the storeroom and took from there worn-out clothes and worn-out rags and let them down by ropes into the cistern to Jeremiah.
38:12 [NASB] Then Ebed-melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, "Now put these worn-out clothes and rags under your armpits under the ropes"; and Jeremiah did so.
38:13 [NASB] So they pulled Jeremiah up with the ropes and lifted him out of the cistern, and Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guardhouse.

38:14 [NASB] Then King Zedekiah sent and had Jeremiah the prophet brought to him at the third entrance that is in the house of the LORD; and the king said to Jeremiah, "I am going to ask you something; do not hide anything from me."
38:15 [NASB] Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, "If I tell you, will you not certainly put me to death? Besides, if I give you advice, you will not listen to me."
38:16 [NASB] But King Zedekiah swore to Jeremiah in secret saying, "As the LORD lives, who made this life for us, surely I will not put you to death nor will I give you over to the hand of these men who are seeking your life."
38:17 [NASB] Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, "Thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, 'If you will indeed go out to the officers of the king of Babylon, then you will live, this city will not be burned with fire, and you and your household will survive.
38:18 [NASB] 'But if you will not go out to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city will be given over to the hand of the Chaldeans; and they will burn it with fire, and you yourself will not escape from their hand.'"
38:19 [NASB] Then King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, "I dread the Jews who have gone over to the Chaldeans, for they may give me over into their hand and they will abuse me."
38:20 [NASB] But Jeremiah said, "They will not give you over. Please obey the LORD in what I am saying to you, that it may go well with you and you may live.
38:21 [NASB] "But if you keep refusing to go out, this is the word which the LORD has shown me:
38:22 [NASB] 'Then behold, all of the women who have been left in the palace of the king of Judah are going to be brought out to the officers of the king of Babylon; and those women will say, "Your close friends Have misled and overpowered you; While your feet were sunk in the mire, They turned back."
38:23 [NASB] 'They will also bring out all your wives and your sons to the Chaldeans, and you yourself will not escape from their hand, but will be seized by the hand of the king of Babylon, and this city will be burned with fire.'"
38:24 [NASB] Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, "Let no man know about these words and you will not die.
38:25 [NASB] "But if the officials hear that I have talked with you and come to you and say to you, 'Tell us now what you said to the king and what the king said to you; do not hide {it} from us and we will not put you to death,'
38:26 [NASB] then you are to say to them, 'I was presenting my petition before the king, not to make me return to the house of Jonathan to die there.'"
38:27 [NASB] Then all the officials came to Jeremiah and questioned him. So he reported to them in accordance with all these words which the king had commanded; and they ceased speaking with him, since the conversation had not been overheard.
38:28 [NASB] So Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guardhouse until the day that Jerusalem was captured.
耶路撒冷陷落
39:1 [NASB] Now when Jerusalem was captured in the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army came to Jerusalem and laid siege to it;
39:2 [NASB] in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, in the ninth {day} of the month, the city {wall} was breached.
39:3 [NASB] Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came in and sat down at the Middle Gate: Nergal-sar-ezer, Samgar-nebu, Sar-sekim the Rab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer {the} Rab-mag, and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
39:4 [NASB] When Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they fled and went out of the city at night by way of the king's garden through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.
39:5 [NASB] But the army of the Chaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they seized him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.
39:6 [NASB] Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also slew all the nobles of Judah.
39:7 [NASB] He then blinded Zedekiah's eyes and bound him in fetters of bronze to bring him to Babylon.
39:8 [NASB] The Chaldeans also burned with fire the king's palace and the houses of the people, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
39:9 [NASB] As for the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had gone over to him and the rest of the people who remained, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard carried {them} into exile in Babylon.
39:10 [NASB] But some of the poorest people who had nothing, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard left behind in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at that time.

39:11 [NASB] Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard, saying,
39:12 [NASB] "Take him and look after him, and do nothing harmful to him, but rather deal with him just as he tells you."
39:13 [NASB] So Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard sent {word,} along with Nebushazban the Rab-saris, and Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, and all the leading officers of the king of Babylon;
39:14 [NASB] they even sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guardhouse and entrusted him to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So he stayed among the people.

39:15 [NASB] Now the word of the LORD had come to Jeremiah while he was confined in the court of the guardhouse, saying,
39:16 [NASB] "Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Behold, I am about to bring My words on this city for disaster and not for prosperity; and they will take place before you on that day.
39:17 [NASB] "But I will deliver you on that day," declares the LORD, "and you will not be given into the hand of the men whom you dread.
39:18 [NASB] "For I will certainly rescue you, and you will not fall by the sword; but you will have your {own} life as booty, because you have trusted in Me," declares the LORD.'"
護衛長釋放耶利米
40:1 [NASB] The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD after Nebuzaradan captain of the bodyguard had released him from Ramah, when he had taken him bound in chains among all the exiles of Jerusalem and Judah who were being exiled to Babylon.
40:2 [NASB] Now the captain of the bodyguard had taken Jeremiah and said to him, "The LORD your God promised this calamity against this place;
40:3 [NASB] and the LORD has brought {it} on and done just as He promised. Because you {people} sinned against the LORD and did not listen to His voice, therefore this thing has happened to you.
40:4 [NASB] "But now, behold, I am freeing you today from the chains which are on your hands. If you would prefer to come with me to Babylon, come {along,} and I will look after you; but if you would prefer not to come with me to Babylon, never mind. Look, the whole land is before you; go wherever it seems good and right for you to go."
40:5 [NASB] As Jeremiah was still not going back, {he said,} "Go on back then to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and stay with him among the people; or else go anywhere it seems right for you to go." So the captain of the bodyguard gave him a ration and a gift and let him go.
40:6 [NASB] Then Jeremiah went to Mizpah to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam and stayed with him among the people who were left in the land.

40:7 [NASB] Now all the commanders of the forces that were in the field, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam over the land and that he had put him in charge of the men, women and children, those of the poorest of the land who had not been exiled to Babylon.
40:8 [NASB] So they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah, along with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, {both} they and their men.
40:9 [NASB] Then Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, "Do not be afraid of serving the Chaldeans; stay in the land and serve the king of Babylon, that it may go well with you.
40:10 [NASB] "Now as for me, behold, I am going to stay at Mizpah to stand {for you} before the Chaldeans who come to us; but as for you, gather in wine and summer fruit and oil and put {them} in your {storage} vessels, and live in your cities that you have taken over."
40:11 [NASB] Likewise, also all the Jews who were in Moab and among the sons of Ammon and in Edom and who were in all the {other} countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant for Judah, and that he had appointed over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan.
40:12 [NASB] Then all the Jews returned from all the places to which they had been driven away and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah at Mizpah, and gathered in wine and summer fruit in great abundance.

40:13 [NASB] Now Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces that were in the field came to Gedaliah at Mizpah
40:14 [NASB] and said to him, "Are you well aware that Baalis the king of the sons of Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take your life?" But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam did not believe them.
40:15 [NASB] Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke secretly to Gedaliah in Mizpah, saying, "Let me go and kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and not a man will know! Why should he take your life, so that all the Jews who are gathered to you would be scattered and the remnant of Judah would perish?"
40:16 [NASB] But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, "Do not do this thing, for you are telling a lie about Ishmael."
以實瑪利基大利
41:1 [NASB] In the seventh month Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the royal family and {one} of the chief officers of the king, along with ten men, came to Mizpah to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. While they were eating bread together there in Mizpah,
41:2 [NASB] Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and the ten men who were with him arose and struck down Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword and put to death the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.
41:3 [NASB] Ishmael also struck down all the Jews who were with him, {that is} with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, the men of war.
41:4 [NASB] Now it happened on the next day after the killing of Gedaliah, when no one knew about {it,}
41:5 [NASB] that eighty men came from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria with their beards shaved off and their clothes torn and their bodies gashed, having grain offerings and incense in their hands to bring to the house of the LORD.
41:6 [NASB] Then Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he went; and as he met them, he said to them, "Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam!"
41:7 [NASB] Yet it turned out that as soon as they came inside the city, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and the men that were with him slaughtered them {and cast them} into the cistern.
41:8 [NASB] But ten men who were found among them said to Ishmael, "Do not put us to death; for we have stores of wheat, barley, oil and honey hidden in the field." So he refrained and did not put them to death along with their companions.
41:9 [NASB] Now as for the cistern where Ishmael had cast all the corpses of the men whom he had struck down because of Gedaliah, it was the one that King Asa had made on account of Baasha, king of Israel; Ishmael the son of Nethaniah filled it with the slain.
41:10 [NASB] Then Ishmael took captive all the remnant of the people who were in Mizpah, the king's daughters and all the people who were left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard had put under the charge of Gedaliah the son of Ahikam; thus Ishmael the son of Nethaniah took them captive and proceeded to cross over to the sons of Ammon.

41:11 [NASB] But Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces that were with him heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had done.
41:12 [NASB] So they took all the men and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and they found him by the great pool that is in Gibeon.
41:13 [NASB] Now as soon as all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan the son of Kareah and the commanders of the forces that were with him, they were glad.
41:14 [NASB] So all the people whom Ishmael had taken captive from Mizpah turned around and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.
41:15 [NASB] But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men and went to the sons of Ammon.
41:16 [NASB] Then Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces that were with him took from Mizpah all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, after he had struck down Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, {that is,} the men who were soldiers, {the} women, {the} children, and {the} eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon.
41:17 [NASB] And they went and stayed in Geruth Chimham, which is beside Bethlehem, in order to proceed into Egypt
41:18 [NASB] because of the Chaldeans; for they were afraid of them, since Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had struck down Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.
