Photos taken by a Xinhua reporter show enchanting winter scenery of the Yunlong reservoir, which makes up 70 percent of the drinking-water source in Kunming and looks like a "thousand-islet lake".

Lying 137 kilometer northwest off downtown Kunming in Luquan County, the Yunlong reservoir has its dam seated on the Zhangjiu River, a tributary of the Jinsha River.

The reservoir has a drainage area of 745 square kilometers and a water storage of 484 million cubic meters.
