The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC held a media briefing January 10 on the country𠏋 consular affairs in 2017.
According to Guo Shaochun, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China has concluded an agreement with Austria on the establishment of the general consulate of Austria in Chengdu.
To date, 17 countries have been approved to set up their general consulates in Chengdu, which tops China's central and western regions in this aspect.
