The index report says currently there is strong demand for Qingdao cruiser tourism and cruiser economy develops rapidly. Meanwhile, it shows obvious seasonal characteristics, which means the market steps up in spring, summer and autumn and shrinks in winter.
As a direct reflection of the status quo and vision of Qingdao cruiser industry development, Qingdao cruiser economic development index is composed jointly by Qingdao International Shipping Service Center and Qingdao Shipping Development Research Institute and released every month. The index is a composite index, the main index system of which contains berth frequency of Qingdao port, total tourist number, port coastal line, talents, employee number, local development level, etc. It outlined characterizes of Qingdao cruiser economic development and shows its unique feature and capacity, helpful for the government, industry organizations, companies and individuals and mass people to accurately understand development direction of cruiser economic development and offer reference for policy making and market planning.
On May 2015, Qingdao cruiser homeport put into use and becomes the fastest-growing cruiser port in China 2 years after. It shows strong competitiveness in both facilities and market share. By the end of 2017, the port has received nearly 400,000 person-time visitors. Qingdao cruiser economic development index takes June 2016, one month after it was put into use, as basis and designates its index 100 points, based on which the port draws Qingdao cruiser economic development index every month.
