Top UNESCO Official Endorses Chengdu’s Practice of Sustainable Development

The 12th annual meeting of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) is being held in Krakow, Poland. The event was open on June 12 and will be concluded on June 15.

More than 350 delegates from 160 UCCN members attended the opening ceremony. Mr. Ernesto Renato Ottone Ramirez, UNESCO's Assistant Director-General for Culture, when addressing the ceremony, expressed his gratitude to Chengdu for its support to the organization.

After the ceremony, Mr. Ramirez received an exclusive interview with gochengdu.cn. He said that Chengdu has made impressive achievements in sustainable development, from which other cities can learn. He also expressed that Chengdu is a city full of vitality and charm, and he had planned to visit the city in September.
