FAW Volkswagen East China Base officially launches production in Qingdao

FAW Volkswagen East China Inauguration& New Generation BORA Unveiling Ceremony, themed with Vibrant Momentum for a New Future, was held in Qingdao recently.

It is said that the annual production of the base, integrating innovation, science & technology and environmental protection, is expected to reach 300,000 vehicles per year. After completion, the base will greatly enhance the concentration ability of Qingdao auto industry and help the city with building 100 Billion-worth auto industry chain, smart manufacture and auto industry upgrade and transformation in east China will be boosted. In addition, the base will set up regional economic eco-circle to attract investment from affiliated suppliers and increase job position. Completion of the base also marks that Qingdao will enter the fast lane of auto industry development and becomes a key domestic auto industry concentration area, as well as an international competitive advanced manufacture base. In the ceremony, the new generation BORA made the debut. Combined 7 value transformation, including platform, appearance, deco and engine, to be the biggest upgrade in history ever. (Jia Feng)
