Sichuan Airlines plans to open a direct air link between Chengdu and Tel Aviv, Israel in mid August, sources from Chengdu Municipal Port and Logistics Office and the airline company told reporters on July 5.

The round-trip service is preliminarily set to operate, using Airbus A330 aircraft, twice weekly on every Wednesday and Sunday. And the launch of the route will enable Chengdu to be the first city in central and western China and the third one in the country with a non-stop air link with Israel.
