Japan External Trade Organization visits Qingdao High-tech Zone

A delegation led by Matumura Yoshiko, director and chief delegate of Qingdao office of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), visited Qingdao High-tech Zone on April 11, 2019. Shang Liqun, deputy secretary of the working committee and director of the management committee of Qingdao High-tech Zone, met with the guests.

Shang Liqun first welcomed the delegation and introduced the current development and investment environment of Qingdao High-tech Zone. He said at present, the high-tech zone has already been settled by many outstanding Japanese enterprises such as Topy, Nachi and Sato. Qingdao high-tech zone focuses on the development of information technology, intelligent manufacturing, medical and pharmaceutical industries, in which Japan has a comparative advantage. He looked forward to more exchanges between the two sides especially in the health and recuperation industry and pooling more quality resources.

Matumura Yoshiko said China has made great achievements since the reform and opening up. With the development of economy, China's domestic market demand is increasingly thriving. Japanese enterprises' investment in China is gradually shifting from traditional processing export to production investment in Chinese market, and enterprises from the two countries will have more chances for cooperation and exchanges.

She spoke highly of the progress Qingdao High-tech Zone has made, hoped to deepen mutual understanding through this visit and realize a win-win cooperation taking the field of health and recuperation as a key direction and giving full play of each other's advantages.

Then the delegation visited the planning exhibition hall of the zone and Qingdao Sato Light Co.,Ltd. to get an in-depth understanding of the zone's positioning, strategic planning, industrial characteristics and corporate development.
