Chengdu rose to fifth, ranking first in terms of growth rate due to its powerful strength of financial innovation and entrepreneurship.

On June 11, the China Development Institute (CDI), one of the country's top think tanks based in Shenzhen, released the China Entrepreneurship & Innovation Finance Index Report (2019). The top ten cities on the ranking are Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Chongqing, Nanjing and Xi'an. Compared with its place of last year, Chengdu rose to fifth, ranking first in terms of growth rate due to its powerful strength of financial innovation and entrepreneurship.

The rapid growth of the city benefits from its highly supportive policy. The China IEFI Report 2019 shows that Chengdu outperforms its counterparts in the country and is a national model of supporting financial innovation and entrepreneurship through government policies.
