According to the latest statistics co-released July 9 by the Chengdu Retail Business Association and DataQuest China, from January to June, 237 first stores of home and foreign brands opened in Chengdu, surpassing the total number in 2018. Among them, the two most eye-catching are French luxury brand Givenchy's first global kids fashion store and Austrian jewelry brand Swarovski's first AR store in China.

The stores include 2 as the first in the world, 27 in China, 14 in the county's western region, 37 in southwest China, and 157 in Chengdu.

As an international city of gastronomy and one of China's first-tier cities of fashion, Chengdu proves its appeal through the number of the top brands' first stores. 110 out of the 237 are restaurants, mostly specializing in hotpot and Sichuan cuisines. And various kinds of fashion brands, both from home and abroad, have set foot in Chengdu in the first half of this year.
