Currently, Chengdu is making greater efforts to deepen the mutual understanding and appreciation of other cities, and to show its own urban cultural charm.

The World Cities Culture (Tianfu) Symposium 2019 is to be convened on July 22-24 here in Chengdu.

As an important platform to promote communication and understanding among cities across the globe, the event will bring together representatives and cultural celebrities from the members of the World Cities Culture Forum (WCCF), major cities along the Belt and Road, as well as famous cultural and creative institutions from China and other countries. They will probe into topics involving urban cultural development from international perspectives.

Themed "Cultural Development and Urban Opportunities", the Second World Cities Culture (Tianfu) Symposium will gather top industrial factors of the cultural and creative sectors across the globe.

The three-day Symposium will present an opening ceremony, a main forum, three major theme activities, and a series of sub-events.

One of the highlights of the event is a showcase named Tianfu Corridor, which is equipped with applications of cutting-edge VR, AI and 5G technologies and is a space for immersive and interactive experience. It shows Chengdu's ongoing efforts to become a world famous city of culture, tourism and sports events, as well as an international capital of gastronomy, music and MICE services.
