In recent days, the special inspection team for safe resumption of classes in Qingdao High-tech Zone has carried out safety inspections before classes resumed at 17 schools and training institutions in the zone. “Our firefighters have to be ready here all the time,” said Liu Fengjiao, an inspector with Fire and Rescue Brigade of Qingdao High-tech Zone.

The inspection items include whether the fire engine passage and evacuation passage are unblocked in the school, whether the fire facilities and equipment such as fire extinguishers, evacuation signs, emergency lighting fixtures are equipped in place, and whether the electrical wiring is laid in a standard. Meanwhile, the inspection team also issued publicity materials about the fire safety to the responsible persons of schools to help students and teachers correctly deal with the fire safety problems encountered in daily study and life.

Zhang Jianrong, a teacher at Qingdao Middle School, said, the inspection will help us to eliminate the school's fire safety loopholes and raise the fire safety awareness of teachers and students.

"In the next step, the Fire and Rescue Brigade will continue to provide guidance on fire safety services to schools that are about to resume classes at all levels in the district, and strive to create a safe and harmonious campus environment for teachers and students in the district," said the inspector of Fire and Rescue Brigade of Qingdao High-tech Zone.
