Farmers busy harvesting agricultural products in Yunnan

Farmers in southwest China's Yunnan Province and east China's Zhejiang Province are busy harvesting a range of agricultural products, as some fruits are ripe in the autumn season.

Farmers in Hani terraces of Yunnan's Honghe Hani Yi Autonomous Prefecture farm fish in rice fields, , which can add income for about 5,000 farmers.

Xiangjiaba Town in Yunnan's Zhaotong City held an event to celebrate the autumn harvest. Villagers participated in fishing and harvested pumpkins, and their faces are full of happiness.

Pomegranate growers in Xinshao Town of Yunnan's Mile County is busy picking red pomegranates from their farms, and farmers are very happy with the increase of their income this year.

"This year's output value is better than last year, and I can earn about 70,000 yuan," said Xu Wenrong, a local pomegranate farmer.

The grape farm is full of fresh green grapes in the township near Xinshao, and about 200 villagers start their jobs at home with growing and selling grapes from their doorsteps.

Rice wine is a traditional drink in China. Wine flower, a key ingredient of brewing rice wine, is ripe in Changxing County of Huzhou City of east China's Zhejiang Province. Li Huoying, a local rice wine maker, is busy picking wine flower with her families.

"The flower on the top can be picked when it is as big as the flower on the bottom. Flower like this can be picked in a week," said Li.

Picking wine flower is the first step in brewing rice wine, and there are tens of steps after it.

Li keeps trying to improve the brewing technique, and her daughters also want to brew rice wine.
