Residents in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province, are back to their normal lives as the new local infections have been well contained.

As of Saturday afternoon, Qingdao has completed 10,920,411 nucleic acid tests, and the results of 10,920,294 samples have been revealed with no new positive cases.

The citywide testing covering all its 11 million residents starting from Monday is close to an end, while the street officers and medics are still in position and serious with each test.

Some citizens proactively went to the test stations on Saturday morning, as they had not received tests for personal reasons.

"I am just back from a business trip. As all who need to be tested are required to have a test, and I have not, so I think I should take the responsibility and come have one," said Mr. Zhang, a local resident.

During the period of epidemic response, the Loushanhou Community was placed into a medium risk zone. Local residents have actively cooperated and responded with optimistic minds, according to Mr. Wei, owner of a local grocery store.

"All the residents feel quite safe and the community has done well in prevention and control. I purchase vegetables every day and the vegetables are all fresh," said Wei.

Local taxi companies have also taken strict measures including requiring all the taxi drivers check their body temperatures and disinfect cars before and after taking each passenger.

"We have required every driver to disinfect their cars before and after taking a passenger and asked them to suggest passengers to ride in the back seats," said Wang Jun, assistant to manager of Haibo Bus and Taxi company limited.

As a test station was set up in the Xiaomai Island Park, it was busy for three days, and now it has returned to its normal calm and peaceful and is receiving many local visitors.

There are also many visitors in the Qingdao Haichang Polar Ocean Park, and they are all required to wear masks.
