Kunming sees surge of flights to ASEAN in March

With 158 takeoffs weekly, Kunming Airport, member of Yunnan Airport Group, saw a year-on-year increase of 41 percent in the number of international flights to the ASEAN destinations in March, according to the statistics from Yunnan Airport Group on April 19.

35 international flights to South Asia took off at the airport, representing a year-on-year growth of 29.6 percent in the same period. 

In the 1st quarter of 2017, Yunnan Airport Group witnessed 125,000 takeoffs and landings, an increase of 11.1 percent year on year.

15.844 million passengers were put through its 12 member airports across the province, an increase of 13.7 percent.

In the coming summer and autumn, Kunming will be linked up by more international air routes, including the Beijing-Kunming-Chiang Mai, Guangzhou-Kunming-Mandalay, Kunming-Moscow, Kunming-Manila, Kunming-Cebu, Kunming-Kalibo, Kunming-Mandalay, Kunming-Yangon, Kunming-Da Nang, Kunming-Karachi (freight) air routes.
