The 2017 Colorful #Yunnan Ethnic Costume Cultural Festival recently held in Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture was a great eye-opener for the audience. During the two-day final competition, 653 actors and actresses from 16 prefectures and cities in Yunnan displayed more than 800 costumes from 26 ethnic groups, offering the audience a unique “ethnic costume feast”.

There are 26 ethnic groups in Yunnan and some are still proudly wearing authentic, colorful and diverse ethnic costumes. This year, the most celebrated designs which conquer the center stage will be selected to participate in the fire worship ceremony of the Torch Festival on July 18.
