Editor’s notes: On this planet, there are many kinds of bridges. Each of them has its own uniqueness and stories. What is the most beautiful and unforgettable bridge you have ever seen. Today, we introduce you to the Changhong Bridge in southeast Yunnan’s Gejiu City.

Changhong literally means “long rainbow” in Chinese. Located 13 kilometers away from the government seat of Gejiu City, Changhong Bridge is just like a rainbow across the Nanpan River.

Built in 1961, the bridge is 171 meters long, 30 meters high and 9 meters wide. It was built with stones. And its main structure is a 112.5-meter-long single arch, making the bridge the largest single-arch bridge in China at that time. Since 1978, the bridge has put under national first class protection and has been well preserved. Today, after more than 50 years, the bridge is still in use.
