Today, we celebrate the 41st Tree Planting Day, also known as Arbor Day, which falls on March 12 here in China each year.

Trees-planting means contributing to ecological conservation, showing our care about the green hills, clear waters and fresh air around us.

In 2018, around 548,000 hectares of land in Yunnan were afforested, and the forest coverage rate in Yunnan reached 60.3%, an increase of 0.6 percent on 2017.

Ranking first in plant species among Chinese provinces, Yunnan is home to tropical, subtropical, temperate, and cold-temperate plants. 19,365 high-energy plants have been discovered in the province, accounting for 50.2% of the country’s total.
