As an outdoor sports paradise, southwest China’s Yunnan province is rich in unique outdoor resources. After the internationally renowned triathlon event “Rionman” was held in Yunnan for two consecutive years, another world-class event “XTERRA” will come to Kunming, capital city of the province for the first time on September 21-22.

XTERRA is dubbed as the most welcomed triathlon event around the world. Up to now, XTERRA has been held in 33 countries and regions. With 300 relevant competitions held each year, the event has covered a total of 100,000 athletes and one million participants.

XTERRA Kunming Station will be the last stop of the XTERRA Asia Pacific Tour. It will provide a bonus of $25,000 for elite athletes, applying a 100-point scale. At the same time, 51 amateurs who participate in the competition will be directly promoted to the XTERRA World Championships held in Maui, Hawaii, USA in 2019 or 2020.

According to the organizer, Yunnan amazes the world for its natural resources and mild weather. Its diverse ethnic cultures are also attractions for XTERRA lovers.
