Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in south Yunnan province staged a cooking competition near the Mekong River on March 27, in an effort to invite in more tourists.

At the event, a variety of cold dishes made of mango, papaya and pineapple were presented to the guests, stirring their taste buds and refreshing the spirits.

Since March 14, the riverside Gaozhuang Shuangjing scenic area has been open to visitors, with services also available at night markets, cruise ships or yachts.
