Down coats, heaters and other warm weather gear are hitting shelves in China as the winter months approach.

Electric heaters, electric blankets and heating pads are on display at one supermarket in Kunming City, southwest China's Yunnan Province.

One worker said that different customers have different needs when it comes to cold weather products.

"Now, elderly people prefer to purchase electric blankets, but the young tend to buy heating pads," said Xu Ranlian, deputy manager for one supermarket in Kunming City.

Meanwhile, stores are stocking up on down coats, another popular item during winter, as demand rises.

"The temperature has dropped earlier this fall compared with past two years. I stacked the shelves with thicker down waistcoats and hoodies," said one local shop owner.
