SAN GABRIEL POLICE DEPARTMENT ENGAGED IN HIGH SPEED PURSUIT

San Gabriel, CA — On June 26, members of the San Gabriel Police Department were engaged in a high chase car pursuit that began at approximately 12:31 p.m. when an officer attempted to engage in a routine traffic stop. The vehicle was traveling southbound along San Gabriel Boulevard towards Mission Road. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued which lasted approximately four minutes. The pursuit came to a conclusion when the suspect drove westbound on Broadway towards San Gabriel Boulevard. The suspect drove through a red light and collided into five vehicles. The suspect is currently being identified as an adult male, and was driving a reported stolen vehicle. Two victims have been transported to area hospitals. No major injuries have been reported at this time. San Gabriel Boulevard is currently closed from Agostino Road and Live Oak for the next five hours. Broadway from Charlotte Avenue to Pine Street is also expected to be closed while officers conduct their investigation.
