With the Belt and Road Forum underway in Beijing, two documentary films produced by Guangdong Radio and Television station are being promoted to highlight the important role Guangdong province plays in the initiative.

Shen Haixiong, head of Guangdong provincial publicity department, visited the Guangdong Radio and Television station on May 15, sending his gratitude to the producers of the two documentary films – Maritime Silk Road and Retrace the Maritime Silk Road.

The films offer a deeper understanding of Guangdong province's history and development in the national initiative, and its connection with countries and regions along the route.

Guangdong is a strategic pivot province along the Belt and Road Initiative and an important outpost for the Maritime Silk Road, said Zhan.

He said domestic media should work harder to help overseas media outlets gain a better understanding of Guangdong and China.
