Qingdao joins the 1st batch of national IP rights comprehensive management reform trial cities

Qingdao and other 5 cities (districts) received the letter from the State Bureau of Intellectual Property Rights recently, which approves Qingdao to becomethe 1st batch of national intellectual property rights comprehensive management reform trial cities. This is the 3rd national gift for Qingdao in the 1st half of 2017.

As the key task ofdeepening IP reform of Central Leading Group for Comprehensively Deepening Reforms, the trial aims to boost the establishment of IP mechanism fits for IP development rules and international established practice through the way of deepening IP comprehensive management reform in trial cities, to form a chain, including IP development, application, protection, management and service, and a matrix, including patent, trademark, copyrights, based on actual condition and demands of China. According to national and key local overall deployment for innovation-driven development, as well as local IP rights development and demand for IP rights comprehensive management reform, the bureau designates 6 cities (districts) as trial places, including Qingdao of Shandong, Xiamen of Fujian, Shenzhen of Guangdong, Changsha of Hunan, Suzhou of Jiangsu, Xuhui district of Shanghai. The duration is one year.

With rich innovationresources, strong radiation effect, and thirsty for IP rights to support innovation-driven development, Qingdao strongly push IP rights strategic action plan, as well as construction of high-standard national IP rights model city. The city focuses on IP rights-concentrate enterprises and industries development, and turning IP rights management to quality-oriented to quantity-oriented mode. In the 1st half of 2017, Qingdao was approved to become as one of the 1st batch of cities to build national IP rights leading city, and key city of national IP rights operation service system construction.
