Qingdao and Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries signed the cooperation agreement

On August 14th, the Qingdao Municipality and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) signed the Memorandum on “The Belt and Road” International Capacity Cooperation in Eurasian Economic and Trade Cooperation Industrial Park in Macao.
Launched by Qingdao, the Eurasian Economic and Trade Cooperation Industrial Park is the only cross-border cooperation park with bilateral domestic and overseas interaction in China, which stretches across Eurasia. According to the memorandum, the two signing parties will jointly promote the bilateral investment and trade and international capacity cooperation between Qingdao and Portuguese-speaking countries by regarding the Eurasian Economic and Trade Cooperation Industrial Park as a local economic and trade cooperation platform for “the Belt and Road” initiative.
The Portuguese-speaking countries include Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Sao Tome and Principe, and East Timor. It is a new emerging market with a total population of 280 million. In the first half of this year, the total import and export volume between Qingdao and Portuguese-speaking countries is 2.11 billion USD, increasing by 70.1% over the same period of time. Yu Feng
