China made inter-city train exported to SaoPaolo for the 1st time

CRRH Qingdao Sifang Co Ltd as the supplier signed a contract of 8 groups (64 units), which will be used in Sao Paolo’s line 13, with CPTM in Sao Paolo on September 1 of Brazilian local time. It’s the 1st deal the Chinese company won from Sao Paolo city, Brazil.

Sao Paolo’s 12.2km-long line 13, which is the 1st airport line in Brazil and South America, connects the central area of Sao Paolo and Guarulhos International Airport. CPTM started global biding since 2016 and CRRH Qingdao Sifang stood out from competitors and won the bid.

The CRRC Qingdao Sifang is going to provide 8 groups (64 units) of wide-track train (track distance of 1600mm). Each group will have 4 engine units and 4 common units, with highest speed of 90km/h. The train will be designed based on A-type subway technologies platform, as well as Brazilian tech standard system and local culture. Advanced safety guarantee and information processing technologies, including off-track check, water frog for fire distinguish, 3G/4G information transfer, will be adopted.
