Qingdao has such a street. It has witnessed the history, which resided many great literature masters including Lao She, Wen Yiduo, Xiao Hong and Shen Congwen and encountered a large number of diligent students from generation to generation. In the battle against the time, it hasn’t been affected by dried fish, shell, grilled squid or petty commodities from Yiwu and hasn’t bowed to love affair and vulgar. As the original source of Qingdao culture, Road Daxue possesses both “interesting soul” and “beautiful appearance” with persistence and targeted polishing and becomes a street popular online that all packers must pay visit to when they come to Qingdao. 
In 1924, the Beiyang Government named the road in front of Qingdao University Road Daxue, also the only road named after the higher learning institution in Qingdao. In 1930, Shandong University was relocated from Jinan to Qingdao and merged with Qingdao University into National Shandong University, where Laoshe, Wen Yiduo, Shen Congwen, Hua Gang and Tong Dizhou used to teach. Many former residences of celebrities including Lao She, Liang Shiqiu and Shu Xingbei are preserved on Road Daxue and surrounding Road Longkou, Road Yushan and Road Huangxian. 
Converted from the former residence of Laoshe and formally opening in 2010, Luo Tuo Xiangzi Museum attracts 30,000 to 40,000 visitors every year. Among visitors, there are many friends from Japan, Germany and South Korea. In 2016, the Huangdao Bookstore, which occupies an important position in Chinese literature history and CPC history, also reopened here. In those years, Xiao Hong and Xiao Jun who lived in Qingdao sent their famous works “Sheng Si Chang” to Mr. Lu Xun in “Huangdao Bookstore” and became very influential writers with the assistance of Lu Xun. The manuscripts of Luo Tuo Xiangzi, the novel by Lao She, mostly came from the paper printed by the bookstore. 
As an important culture front in the city, Qingdao Art Gallery is also on Road Daxue. The Qingdao Art Gallery, built on the former site of World Red Cross Qingdao Branch, has buildings of three different styles, namely Roman pro-style, Chinese palace style and Arabian style and is a key national important cultural relics protection site. At present, the Qingdao Art Gallery is under maintenance. 
In addition to precious resources endowed by the history, in the recent 5 years, a few young people, who look forward to freedom and love literature, have opened successively cafe shops on Road Daxue. Currently, the number of cafe shops nearby Road Daxue has reached thirty to forty. The District Shinan Government has acutely grasped the relationship between coffee and culture, innovatively launched the library project named “Reading Qingdao In a Cup of Coffee” by distributing freely the books of District Shinan Library among these cafe shops. This way, each coffee shop becomes an important culture experience center. 
Besides coffee shops, many other exquisite shops have emerged including pottery art shops, balloon rent shops and photography shops. 
The two sides of Road Daxue are encircled by yellow tiles and red walls, unique to the traditional Chinese architecture. Every day, a lot of tourists take photos for souvenirs in the crossroad of Road Daxue and Road Yushan. Walking deeper into the north, tourists can always encounter “surprises”. 
People, who live or open shops on Road Daxue, particularly cherish the tranquility and elegance here. No matter it is a cafe shop, a restaurant or a grocery shop; every shop is designed in its own aesthetic manner. This sort of artistic self-perception is a rare precious trait of a city. 
By hiring professional art colleges and institutes, the Road Jiangsu Street, which Road Daxue belongs to in administration, has designed artistically all the area. With their exceptional design, innovative airbrushed doodles “climb” onto piers, well covers, electrical boxes, wall, electrical poles and pipeline.
