Zimbabwean delegation visits Qingdao high-tech zone

A delegation of more than 20 senior cadres of Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front, led by Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, the foreign affairs secretary of the union, visited Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (QNHIDZ) on May 13, 2019. Wang Heming, deputy director general of the Bureau IV (African Affairs) of the International Department of Central Committee of CPC, Feng Bin, deputy director and secondary inspector of Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Shang Liqun, deputy secretary of the working committee and director of the management committee of QNHIDZ accompanied the delegation during the visit.

The delegation first came to the planning exhibition hall of QNHIDZ to learn about the work of the high-tech zone in economic and social construction, commercialization of research findings and transformation of old and new development drivers.

At the symposium on the same day, Shang Liqun extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the development process, preferential policies, government service system and future direction of the high-tech zone. As a standard national high-tech zone, Qingdao high-tech zone adopts the development mode of integration of industry and city, and combines technological innovation, real economy, modern finance and high-end talents to constantly optimize the business service environment and builds core competitiveness, said Shang Liqun.

Since its establishment 11 years ago, the high-tech zone has undergone earthshaking changes and has gradually become a new and modern city full of vigor and vitality. It is hoped that Sino-Zimbabwean cooperation in various fields will keep moving forward and bring more benefits to the two countries and peoples, added Shang Liqun.

Simbarashe Mumbengegwi praised highly the rapid development of Qingdao high-tech zone. He said that Zimbabwe is facing the task of developing economy and improving people¡¦s livelihood. He looked forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation and sharing experience with Qingdao high-tech zone, so as to provide helpful reference for his country¡¦s development, he added.

Simbarashe Mumbengegwi also called for strengthening exchanges of youth between China and Zimbabwe to give full play to their respective advantages and achieve mutual development.
