Recently, a 5G industrial park, the first of its kind in the province, was inaugurated in Chengyang District of Qingdao, Shandong province. The first batch of enterprises signed the contract to settle in the park.

The first 5G indoor distribution system opened in the 5G building, leading the field of 5G technology application.

Relying on the national 5G scaled networking and application demonstration project, the industrial park will quicken the pace of building 5G industrial innovation center and development and testing platform, introducing innovative 5G commercial application enterprises, cultivating 5G basic industries such as high-speed intelligent sensor and edge computing chip integrated circuit, promoting the development of 5G industries in telematics, municipal traffic, public security, education and medical care, and creating global 5G commercial demonstration pilot zone.

Located at R&F Group Headquarter Base, the 5G industrial park is jointly built by the government of Chengyang District, Qingdao Branch of China Unicom, China Unicom (Shandong) Industrial Internet Co. Ltd., and Qingdao R&F Headquarter Base Development and Construction Co. Ltd.

As the only communication operator in the province that is permitted to carry out 5G technology, Qingdao Unicom has built a batch of 5G application projects, including the first 5G smart light pole demonstration road in the province, which was built at the Beijing South Road in Chengyang District.
