Governmental delegation of Singapore visits Qingdao High-tech Zone

A governmental delegation of Singapore led by Xu Fangda, minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Education visited Qingdao High-tech Zone on June 19, 2019, accompanied by Shang Liqun, deputy secretary of the working committee and director of the management committee of the zone.

The delegation first visited the exhibition hall of Qingdao High-tech Zone, where they learned about the work the zone has done in economic development, scientific innovation and high-tech industrial development, followed by a symposium on the basic situation of the zone.

Xu Fangda gave high praise to the zone's economic and social construction, the building of scientific research platform and the development of leading industries. He said as the vanguard of Qingdao, the high-tech zone boasts distinct advantages in economy, science and technology, human resources, and many other fields. He hoped enterprises of the two sides would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation to jointly promote the exchange of talents, industrial development and the construction of major projects, as well as a win-win cooperation between the two sides.

Shang Liqun welcomed the delegation and briefed the basic situation, industrial planning and development direction of the zone. Qingdao High-tech Zone, the only national level innovation and entrepreneurship demonstration base, is home to a number of internationally competitive large enterprises and well-known brands. Next, the zone will strengthen communication with Singapore government to speed up the settlement of cooperation projects.

After the symposium, the delegation made an investigation in Tencent (Qingdao) Maker Space and Qingdao SIASUN Robot and Automation Co., Ltd.
