The consulates general of Thailand, South Korea and Japan have sent letters to Shandong Provincial People's Government and the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government,speaking positively of the far-sighted and strong leadership of China’s central government and the decisive deployment of Shandong Provincial People's Government. They expressed their understanding and support for China’s measures to battle against the novel coronavirus and said that they would actively guide their nationals in Shandong to strengthen their confidence and cooperate with local governments at all levels on epidemic prevention and control.

The consulate general of Thailand in Qingdao sent a letter in the name of its consul general to Liu Jiayi, secretary of the provincial Party committee, and governor Gong Zheng, expressing their sincere concern and firm support to the provine and its people at this crucial moment when the country is firmly fighting against the epidemic. The consulate general of Thailand in Qingdao said that it would, as always, fully cooperate with the provincial Party committee and provincial government in the prevention and control of the epidemic, and follow the guidance of the Chinese side in all aspects of the work. The consulate general expressed its belief that under the leadership of the central and local governments with great foresight, there would be a full victory over the epidemic. It also expressed its sincere wishes to the Chinese people.

The consulate general of South Korea in Qingdao spoke highly of the decisive and effective measures taken by China's central committee and Shandong provincial government, and paid high tribute to the people at all levels in Shandong who have been working day and night to battle against the epidemic. The consulate general has set up a special team to maintain close communication with Shandong’s relevant authorities and is ready to provide assistance if necessary.

The consulate general of Japan in Qingdao sent a letter in the name of its consul general, expressing its high respect and deep sympathy for all relevant units and personnel who have made arduous efforts to combat the epidemic, and thanking the foreign affairs office of Shandong provincial people's government for its care and support to the Japanese nationals in preventing and controlling the epidemic. The consulate general will maintain close contact with the Foreign Affairs Office of Shandong Provincial People Government and cooperate with the prevention and control of the epidemic. It expressed its confidence that the epidemic would be defeated under the strong leadership of the central and local governments.

At present, there are over ten thousands foreign-invested enterprises and tens of thousands of foreigners in Shandong.
