A large-scale crab feast was held Saturday night, as part of the activities during the 30th Qingdao International Beer Festival in east China's Shandong Province.

Over 1,000 big crabs, each weighing over 300 grams and cooked in the original local style, were served to locals and tourists in Wanggezhuang Neighborhood in Laoshan, a venue for this year's festival.

"The crab tastes very delicious together with Tsingtao Beer. I hope the beer festival become more exciting and attractive in Wanggezhuang. I hope people from all over the country will come to Wanggezhuang," said Zhang Jianping, a local resident.

"The crabs are very fresh, and the event is so interesting. So many locals and those from neighboring places have come here. It's exciting to see all of us gathering around these small round tables and sitting on stools and gulping down Tsingtao Beer," said Sun Fengwei, a tourist.

The Wanggezhuang venue sold nearly 75 tons of beer during the event this year, with the total turnover of beer and food reaching around 10 million yuan (1.45 million U.S. dollars). Meanwhile, the event also brought a combined turnover of 30 million yuan (4.34 million U.S. dollars) for other types of recreational facilities like homestays, farm feasts and fishermens’ feasts.

This year's festival closed on Sunday.
