The fifth session of the 13th Qingdao Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference kicked off on Jan 11 in the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province. 

During the four-day session, members of the committee, which is the city's political consultative body, will focus on the promotion of Qingdao's high-quality development and issues of concern in people's livelihoods. Proposals will then be submitted to the CPPCC Qingdao Committee.

Members of the committee will also listen to and discuss the work report of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC Qingdao Municipal Committee.
