Sichuan’s global tourism promotion event “Beautiful Sichuan, More Than Pandas” landed in Yamanashi county in japan on May 9.

The event featured two most famous Sichuan elements to attract local Japanese – delicious Sichuan cuisine and giant panda figures.

Sichuan governor Yin Li and his Yamanashi counterpart made appearances and dotted the eyes of a hand-painted panda figure as a gift from Sichuan to Yamanashi to celebrate the rapport established between the two regions in 1985.

Yin introduced Sichuan’s culinary culture and enchanting tourism attractions to the locals.

Exquisite Sichuan-style dishes were available for tasting on the site. Participants also enjoyed a photography show featuring unique Sichuan elements, and tried their hands at creating painted figures of giant panda.
