Chengdu, as the first city in China, put forward to become a nationally leading and world-renowned city in the medical cosmetology industry.

On June 15, the 2nd International Aesthetic Industry Conference & "Capital of Aesthetics" Summit Forum Chengdu, which was initiated by the Chengdu Municipal Government, Health Commission of Sichuan Province and Chinese Association of Plastics and Aesthetics, as well as undertaken by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology, was held here in the city. It witnessed the conclusion of the agreements for 12 projects involving the whole industrial chain of the medical cosmetology sector, which are valued at RMB33 billion in total.

"Statistics show that the market size of China's medical cosmetology industry exceeded RMB200 billion in 2018, hitting RMB224.5 billion," said Jin Xiaotao, chairman of the Chinese Health Information and Big Data Association. The number is expected to reach RMB500 billion by 2030.

The broad prospect of the market has brought opportunities to cities in the industrial development. In September 2017, Chengdu, as the first city in China, put forward to become a nationally leading and world-renowned city in the medical cosmetology industry. Soon after, it launched a plan to develop the industry between 2018 and 2030. According to it, the city's business income from the industry will reach RMB100 billion by 2025 and RMB200 billion by 2030.
