The Gourmet Festival for the 2019 Chengdu WPFG Opening Ceremony will kick off on August 8.

The opening ceremony of the 2019 World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) is about to take place August 8 at the Shuangliu Sports Center, Chengdu. The event, attracting 16,000 police and firefighters, as well as audience from 80 countries and regions around the world, will last till August 18.

At the same time, the Gourmet Festival for the 2019 Chengdu WPFG Opening Ceremony will kick off at the sports center. During the next ten days, while competing in the sporting arena, the athletes will enjoy a large variety of wonderful food with unique flavor of Chengdu, the first UNESCO City of Gastronomy in Asia.

The food festival, which has brought together a large number of top food businesses in Chengdu and other parts of Sichuan, will run for 11 days. During the period, the Sichuan Catering Service Company, working together with many famous Chinese and foreign catering service brands, will provide the athletes and audience with diversified nutritious and tasty food and snacks, including western-style dishes, Chinese cuisine, drinks and beverages, fruits and local specialties of Chengdu.
