WELCOME TO CONNECTIONS
Worship Service: We want you to grow and see the value of God's wisdom this year. King Solomon said, "Keep sound wisdom and discretion, so they will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck. Then you will walk in your way securely and your foot will not stumble. When you lie down, you will not be afraid…" Prov. 3:21b-24a.
Spiritual Maturity Class: We will begin our study from a book called, "Union with God: The Way to Know and Enjoy God" by Rankin Wilbourne. This class will meet at 11:30 am in the Youth Center. Come and learn how to grow in union with God. Please pick up a copy of this book from Amazon.
Friday Night Small Group: Fridays at 8 p.m. at church. Contact Tiffany Lin at squeakypoof@gmail.com for more info. We will begin our study from the Book of Mark this week.

Dinner Seminar on Feb. 10: Dr. Cameron Lee, a professor of Marriage and Family Studies at Fuller Seminary, will speak on "What love does and why it matters," 5:30 p.m. at 888 Seafood Restaurant. He will teach you the meaning of love and inspire you to embody the love of God to one another. His message will apply to both singles and couples. Cost: $50 per person. Scholarships are available. YOUTH
Sunday Service: Pastor Ben will start the sermon series on the book of Proverbs TODAY until the end of the year. Let''s learn to understand God''s wisdom and apply it in our daily lives.
Youth Friday Night: Join our small group with a brand new lesson on 1/19 at 8:00 p.m., Youth Center. Junior High boys with Uncle Roland Liou, Uncle Scott Chen, Junior High girls with Auntie Angela Liang and Auntie Esther Cheung, Freshman with Pastor Ben, Sophomores with Josh Chu and Jason Lui, and Juniors and Seniors with Uncle Paul Liang.
Sunday school: All Sunday school classes resume TODAY at 11:30 a.m. All junior high students meet at E9, Freshman and Sophomore class meet at E10, and Junior and Senior class at Pastor Ben''s office.
Youth Baptism service: Kevin Zhao and Samuel Liang will be baptized on Sunday, 1/21 at 1:30 p.m., at Main Sanctuary. Let''s come to support them and hear their testimonies.

2018 Sunday Lunch Arrangements:
Starting Time:
12:30 p.m. for Connections, Cantonese, Youth and Children (We will not serve lunch before 12:30 p.m.). 12:45 p.m. for Mandarin (2018 Mandarin''s Sunday Service Time is 11:15 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.).
Food: We will prepare enough food for all congregations. Surplus food can only be distributed according to need after 1:30 p.m. Please follow these guidelines as a way to show our love for each other. Sunday Meal Card for 2018: Sunday meal cards are available for purchase in the cafeteria for $30 [10 meals], with no expiration date. We will give 1 free meal to each yellow card, and 2 free meals to each green card (for those who bring their own container). If you wish to pay cash, it will cost $3 per meal. Free for children under five. Meal card users will have a chance to win the 2018 year-end raffle drawing. Starting in February, meal cards will be sold at the scrip booth.

FECA Theme for 2018: "Following Jesus with Daring Faith"
2018 Short-Term Mission Team to St. Petersburg (4/28 - 5/1)
Campus & Returnees Ministry (CRM) is organizing a short-term missions team
to come to the St. Petersburg Church and serve in the Gospel Camp (4/28-5/1). Team members may lead small groups, offer spiritual counseling, speak in seminars, do personal evangelism, and more. The team will arrive on 4/23 and return after 5/2. The cost is approximately $2,000.00 (visa, flight tickets, & lodging). Qualifications/requirements for team members: baptized Christian; spiritually mature; passionate in spreading the Gospel; burdened for missions; it will be a plus if a participant is a team player and is equipped with spiritual gifts of preaching, teaching and personal evangelism. Assistant Pastor Needed for the Chinese Church of St. Petersburg
The Chinese Church of St. Petersburg is looking for an assistant pastor to shepherd its congregation. Applicants should have the following:
Strong burden for campus ministry. Solid Mainland Chinese background preferred. M.A. or M.Div. degree from an overseas theological seminary. Good physical and mental health (adaptable to life and ministry in Russia). Willing to serve in St. Petersburg for at least 9 months each year. Willing to commit to the ministry for 3 to 5 years.
