CONNECTIONS

Worship Service:  We are combining with the youth today to listen to Rev. Chris Walker speak on "God's Power for Missions."

Hope for Heaven:  What is heaven really going to be like?  What will we look like?  What will we do?  We will find answer to these questions in E-7 at 11:30 a.m. 

ThrYve Community:  Come fellowship with other young adults and study the book of 1 Corinthian this Friday. Contact Tiffany Lin at squeakypoof@gmail.com for more info.

Family Life Community:  We're currently focused on "Building Community."  We are watching videos, playing games, and spending time to share, pray, and support one another.  Join us at 8 p.m. in E-8.  Contact John Shao at john_shao@yahoo.com.

Women's Community:  We meet on the second and fourth Saturday of the month at Anni's home, 8:30 a.m. Contact Anni for more info: wonganniy@yahoo.com. The group is discussing "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.

Sunday Community: Sundays at 1:30 p.m. at the Cheng residence.  Contact Paul at paul.c.cheng@gmail.com or Jack hijack@gmail.com for info.   We are using Kay Arthur's book "How to Study the Bible" this fall. 

Light House Community:  Meet at Andrew and Liz's home on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Temple City. Contact Andrew at Andrewlamcpa@yahoo.com.  They are studying "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.

Next Baptism:  If you have put your trust in Jesus and you would like to be baptized on Oct. 20, please attend the baptism class today at 11:30 a.m. in pastor Ken's office today.

 

 

 

Operation XMas Child 11/16.  Be a part of a global evangelism effort, join us on Sat. Nov 16 at Chapel 2 to pack and wrap shoe boxes and enjoy potluck.  Invite your family and friends!  Please sign up with Bob Jung or Paul Cheng by indicating what small gift items and what potluck dish you will bring.

YOUTH

Sunday Service: Pastor Ben will continue the Beatitudes sermon series TODAY. Let's learn together what Jesus calls us to be and do. We will have our combined FECA Missions Conference Sunday with Connections in Youth Center on 10.06.19 at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday School :   All Sunday school classes will meet at regular classes TODAY.  Due to Missions Conference, there will be no Sunday school on 10.06.19. All Sunday classes will resume on 10.13.19.

 

Friday Night Fellowship: Let's join the FECA Missions Conference on Friday, 10.04.19 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10.05.19 at 9:30 a.m. in Youth Center. Check the Missions Conference flyer for details. Our regular small groups will meet again on Friday, 10.11.19 in Youth Center at 8:00 p.m.

 

SENA:  October SENA edition is available. Pick up your own copy in Pastor Ben's office after the service.

2019 FECA Joint Missions Conference: The theme is: "Understand the God of Missions." English speaker will be Rev. Chris Walker. Pray that all who attend will surrendered their lives for the sake of the great commission and answer God's calling to share the gospel to the nations! Enclosed are the pledge cards for FECA Missions Fund and our Local Missions Fund.  Please prayerfully consider how much to give, fill out the pledge cards, and place them in the offering bag.  Thank you!

2020 Elder and Deacon Board Nominations, Ministry Planning, and Budget: Please keep all of the nominees in your prayers and continue to pray for wisdom and discernment as we continue to plan and budget for the upcoming year.  

Happiness Small Groups: Praise the Lord, the Cantonese congregation Happiness Small Groups will meet regularly from 8/11 to 11/10.  Mandarin congregation and HOA Happiness Small Groups are scheduled for 8/25 to 11/30.  Pray that many lost souls will hear the good news, experience God's love, and receive salvation!

AGAPE CARING CENTER

2019 Free Flu Shots will take place at church on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  UCLA organized health screening and workshops will be here from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We are in need of volunteers for traffic control, greeting, patient registration and screening.  Please contact Karen Duh @ 626-230-8823 if you are able to help.

2019 Joint Missions Conference – Understanding the God of Missions

We would like to thank all the speakers, their team, missions display participants, senior pastors, congregational pastors, co-workers and LMC members for making this year's missions conference possible. We continue to pray that the inspiring stories, messages and discussions will bring forth actions and participation in our missions efforts. 

2020 FECA General Missions Fund (GMF) Budget: $670,000

Your financial contributions are making a difference in global missions. Your faith pledges towards the 2020 GMF are greatly appreciated.  The pledge cards will be collected throughout the month of October. Visit www.feca.org for your online giving. Your sacrificial giving supports the following focus areas: Overseas Church Planting /Evangelism, Theological Training, Mobilization / Ministry support and Ministries (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Middle East, N. Iraq, North Africa, Belize, Mexico, USA).

2020 FECA Sending Budget (SF) for Field Workers: $310,000

Sending Fund is to provide financial support for FECA-sent field workers who are members of FECA churches and to maintain FECA as their sending agency.
