CONNECTIONS

Worship Service:  We are joining with the youth to have communion and pastor Ben will speak to us today.  You can live stream from this link starting this Sunday:  www.fecsgv.wixsite.com/youth

Being Led by the Spirit:  Do you know the mind, personality, liberty and the power of the Spirit?  Do you know how the Spirit of God shape, guide, and speak to you?  We will begin to explore and find answers to these questions today in E-7 at 11:30 a.m.  All classes will be canceled until further notice.

Spiritual Maturity Class:  What is spiritual maturity?  How do you become mature?  Karen will be teaching part 2 of this class starting today at 11:30 a.m. in Grace Hall.  All classes will be canceled until further notice.

All Vibrant Community groups are canceled until further notice.



YOUTH

Sunday Service:  Starting this Sunday, 3.22, our Youth Sunday Service will be on live stream through website www.fecsgv.wixsite.com/youth. Pastor Ben will be speaking this Sunday.  May God's Word strengthen us for such a time as this. 

 

Sunday school:  All Sunday school classes are temporarily suspended until further notice.

 

Friday Night Fellowship:  Friday Night Fellowships are temporarily suspended until further notice.

 

Youth new website:  Send your personal testimony to Ethan. May it be a blessing to others during this time.

 

SENA:  April SENA edition is available. Please let Pastor Ben know where to deliver it to you.

LENT 2020 – 40 Days of Fasting and Prayer: You are encouraged to select a time each day, or any day, during LENT 2020 (Ash Wednesday 2/26 – Easter Sunday 4/12) to fast and pray.  Keep the sign-up sheet, follow the Fasting and Prayer Guide and the devotional pamphlet "The Sanctuary for Lent 2020" to fast, pray, and reflect.  Pray for your relatives, friends who have not yet received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and pray for those who are infected by Coronavirus in China, US and other countries.

Church Response to COVID-19: In compliance with the President's Coronavirus Guidelines, our church has adopted the following measures effective now through the end of March:

1. Sunday Services: Starting this Sunday (3/22), all worship services will be live streamed at church or congregation's website. 

2. Online Meetings: The church has  suspended all  gatherings at church from now through the end of March, including Sunday Services, Sunday School classes, Small Group gatherings, Prayer Meetings, and any other gatherings in groups of more than 10 people (e.g. Worship Team, Choir, co-worker meetings, etc.) We encourage to move all teaching and meetings online.

3. Sunday Bulletin & Insert: The pdf file of Sunday Bulletin and insert will be available on the church's or Congregation's website.

4. Online Giving: To support the church's ministries for the advancement of God's kingdom and glory, you can do online giving (http://www.fecsgv.org/enu/main.aspx).

5.  Walk with God: The coronavirus outbreak will not be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  If you or your family is facing difficulties because of the coronavirus outbreak, please contact congregational pastors.  The church will try our best to help you.

FECA Theme for 2020: "Church Renewal: Growing Young"

 

1.       2020 Encountering God program

A 9-week program for those who desire a new daily experience in encountering God. The program covers daily prayer of examen, scripture meditation and five group meetings with teaching, sharing, and spiritual direction.

Meeting Dates: Saturdays on 4/25, 5/9, 5/23, 6/13, 6/27 (9:00 am-12:30 pm)

Program fee: $35                 Application deadline: 4/22

Languages: English and either Mandarin or Cantonese (depending on the enrollment).

2.    2020 World Vision Global 6K for Water

Today (March 22) is World Water Day, an annual UN observance day that highlights the importance of freshwater.  FECA Social Concern encourages our church members to participate in this year's World Vision Global 6K for Water fundraising event, aiming to bring life-changing clean water and fullness of life to communities around the world.  Due to current concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will provide update and details of the event whenever possible. 

Date and Time: 5/16 (Saturday), 10:00 AM -12:00 PM (pending)

Venue: Whittier Narrows Recreation Area, South El Monte (pending)

Format: Participants walk or run 6 kilometers (3.75 miles), which is the average distance people in developing countries have to walk for water

Registration: Join the "FECA 6K for Water" team online:

Registration Fee: Adult $50.00 / Youth (under 18) $25.00 (Online fundraising   will start after registration)

A registration booth will be available at your church location to provide assistance probably starting April.

3.    The Trinity Concert Has Been Postponed

The concert on 3/22 at FEC Glendale has been postponed until a later date due to the COVID-19 crisis.
