CONNECTIONS

Worship Service:  We will resume our study from the Gospel of John today and the title of the message is “Why I Believe in Jesus” part 2.  You can live stream the sermon and access the outline from this link on Sunday:  https://www.sgvconnections.com/

 

Being Led by the Spirit:   We will hold this class on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. through zoom.  John Shao will be teaching—“A Conspiracy Against the Supernatural.”  Please check your email for the zoom link on Sunday.

 

All Vibrant Community Groups will meet through zoom and please contact your leader for info.

 

Food for Rosemead:  We are collecting canned food and donation to serve our city who needs food.  If you are interested in being a part of this team please contact Pauline; Pauline@rkapparel.com and if you want to donate to this project go to our church website; [https://www.sgvconnections.com/] and contribute to “Food for Rosemead.” We will serve our city on May 23, 8 a.m. to noon.

 

Agape Caring Center

Blood Drive: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a shortage of blood supply. Therefore, American Red Cross will continue to host a blood drive at our Youth Center on 5/21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please support the blood drive to save lives! YOUTH

Sunday Service: This Sunday, 5.17.20, Pastor Ben will be sharing about the topic, “Will you go away?” from John 6:60-70. The sermon will be live-streamed at 9:30 a.m. with a link on our website COVID-19 Updates.

Sunday School: There will be Zoom Meeting Sunday School this week, 5.17.20, at 11:30 a.m. All Jr. High Students will be with Pastor Ben on the topic “Courage” by Francis Chan. All Freshman and Sophomore Students will be with Auntie Anni, Auntie Virg, and Auntie Vicky will be continuing ”What on earth am I here for?“ by Rick Warren. All Junior and Senior Students will be with Dr. Glenn “How to study the Bible - Literary Styles and Genres” All Zoom links to the meetings will be posted on our website COVID-19 Updates.

Friday Night Fellowship: There will be a Zoom Meeting for Friday Night Fellowship Small Group this week at 8 p.m. The topic for all is “Justice will prevail." Jr. High Boys will be with Uncle Roland. Jr. High Girls will be with Auntie Angela and Auntie Esther. Freshmen and Sophomores will be with Pastor Ben. Juniors will be with Auntie Anni. Lastly, Seniors will be with Jason Lui. All Zoom links to the meetings will be posted on our website @ COVID-19 Updates.

 *Stories*: We need stories about an encounter with God. For example, a miracle that happened in your life or how you met God. If you have one, share it!

Devotions: There are devotions that Pastor Ben has provided on our website COVID-19 Updates since we can’t pick up the new SENA.

Pray for the COVID-19 Pandemic: Pray for our government and medical professionals to effectively control the spread of the coronavirus; pray for the churches to effectively spread the gospel during the pandemic; pray for our community and for the needs and physical, emotional  and spiritual health of our brothers and sisters.

Church Response to COVID-19: The church will implement the following measures effective immediately (subject to change depending on future LA Public Health Dept’s Order): 1.Sunday Worship Service: Will stream online at our church’s or congregation’s websites; 2. Sunday School Classes, Small Group Gatherings, Prayer Meetings: Through online zoom meeting ;  3. Church Staff to Work Remotely: Please communicate with them through emails, text messages or by phone4. Sunday Bulletin & Insert:  Available on the church's or Congregation’s website;  5.Giving: You can give online or through mail with checks marked “Payable to FECSGV” and specify on the memo the type of donation, then mail it to the church; 6.Temporary Closure of church campus: The church door is temporary closed due to the pandemic; 7.Walk with God: If you or your family are facing difficulties because of the coronavirus pandemic, please contact small group leaders or congregational pastors.

A 30-Day Guide to Praying for Muslims: Muslims around the world mark Ramadan from April 23 to May 23.  As Muslims seek after God during Ramadan, please pray that Muslims meet Jesus in a special way?  The Prayer Guide is on our church’s and congregational websites. Details see FECA’s News.

Food Drive for the Elderly: We will partner with the City of Rosemead to host a food drive for elderly residents in need. If you can, please help donate nonexpired canned food. If you would like to help pack or donate any canned food, please contact Pauline Kao at pauline@rkapparel.com for details. As of 5/16, we have already distributed 50 bags of canned food! We greatly appreciate your generous donations! The next food drive will occur on 5/23 @8 a.m.- noon at church.

3.     Vision Cancel The Summer Short-Term Mission

Vision has tentatively decided to cancel their summer short-term mission due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Pray that God will enable each member to minister to his or her family at home and their friends via social media during this shutdown time.

4.    Taiwan West Coast Short Term Mission Trip

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Taiwan West Coast Short Term Missions trip in this summer (7/20-7/31) will be canceled.

5.       The FECA Governing Board Meeting

The meeting will be held on 5/19 (Tuesday) in the evening via Zoom. Please pray for God's presence in the meeting.
