盈餘是在我們自己和我們的極限之間的空間，這是安全網，它是一個緩衝地帶，是我們在經過生活的高高低低時所需要的，我們應該有這樣一個財務的呼吸空間。聖經還有一些具體的建議，幫助我們一步一步的在財務上可以有剩餘。

聖經指出來的第一個財務盈餘的原則是：從你所賺的每一塊錢裡面，把十分之一，藉著你的教會，奉獻給神的工作。要明白神是說：如果你從所得到的一切裡面拿出十分之一，藉著你的教會，放回到我的工作上，我將會以超然的方式參與你的財務。

聖經指出來的第二個財務盈餘的原則是：避免欠債。債務是我們建立財務盈餘的致命傷。

聖經指出來的第三個財務盈餘的原則是：儲蓄。要先留出一些錢儲蓄起來，作為一個安全網，一個緩衝。為將來作些儲蓄是聖經裡面明明強調的原則(箴21)。

Room to Breathe – Financial Margin

A margin is that space between ourselves and our limits. It's the safety net; it's the buffer zone that we need as we go through the ups and downs of life. We're supposed to have this room to breathe.  Bible has sometimes uncomfortably specific advice on how we can—step by step—build our financial margins.

Tithing is the first margin.

Avoiding debt is the second margin.

Saving for the future is the third margin.
