  RENTING THE STOREHOUSE

The owner told us that she had tried to rent the storehouse out but to no avail,  there was no other way but to sell it. Because no one was managing that place, every-

thing was in a mess and the metal fence was rusty, for this reason, the parking lot around the storehouse became a dumping site. Next to the parking lot is an apartment building, and the tenants there just dumped their old furniture, mattresses, utensils and garbage into that site.

I told her I don’t have that much money, is it ok if we just rent it. She said no. Then I said: “The God that I believe in wants to used that storage house.” When she heard me mentioned about God, she thought it was Buddha, for she was a Buddhist, and immediately she responded: “Oh, so your God wants to use this place, good! I also believe in God.”

“Do you want God to bless you? Then rent it to us, God wants to use it.” She still refused to rent it out to us, and insisted on selling it. I said: “ Well, if you refuse to rent it to us, your business will go down the hill. If you want your business to prosper, better rent it to us. For if you reject our offer, you are rejecting God. If you change your mind, give me a call, this is my number. I will pray that God will bless you.”

I thought since God Himself told me that this is His “New Center”, He will take care of this matter, because I don’t have the money. Before the week had ended, the owner called me to her office. She asked me: “How did you curse me?”

        “I did not curse you.”

“Yes, you did, didn’t you tell me that if I don’t rent it to you, my business will go down the hill? Well, what you said came true. Someone bought my merchandise without paying me, 2 containers of goods worth tens of thousand dollars.”

“So does it mean that you will rent the storehouse to me?

“Well, if you can pray that I will be able to get the payment, then I will rent the place to you.”

I said I will pray for her, she asked me if it is Buddha that I will be praying to. I said: “I am not a Buddhist like you. We believe in Jesus Christ, He is the way, the truth and the life.”

She said: “Ok then, if your God is a true God, then I will rent the storage house to you.” Then I started to pray earnestly for her. Truly, miracle happened, she was able to collect the money owed her.

I asked her how much is the rental, she said $3,500. I said: “Too much! How about $2,500?” We haggled over for the longest time, finally she agreed to rent us at the price of $2,500.

At the outset, we were unable to use that place for worship services, because it was too filthy and polluted, we needed to clean up and fixed it. The building next door was composed of low-income families, their apartments were so nasty and messed up.
