THE PASSING AWAY OF MY FATHER

Lastly as a conclusion, I would like to relate things concerning my father.

My father passed away in 2003. In my previous book, I mentioned how my mother baptized herself before she passed away. She asked my father to go to the bathroom to see how she baptizes herself.

Thank God, as one believes in Jesus, his whole household will also be saved. My father was originally an unbeliever. After he was converted he could not find a suitable church to be baptized. And so he imitated my mother’s way of baptism, he asked my younger brother to fill the bathtub full of water, then he called our his children and grandchildren to go to the bathroom with him.

My father knew that he would soon pass away, so he told them in a commanding tone: “You children, listen, what I do, in the same way, you should also do. But it is best to be baptized in a church.”

And so my dad baptized himself in the name of the Lord Jesus, after that, he spoke in tongues, others did not understand what he was talking about. But when my brother told me about this, I understood that he was speaking in tongues.

I told my brother saying: “You shall also receive it, because this was God’s promise, our whole family must believe that.”

Soon after the baptism, my father passed away peacefully.

At that time, I was in Singapore on a preaching trip, when I heard this sad news, I was wondering whether I should go back to Taiwan for the funeral, but God told me: “Let the dead bury their dead.”

So I did not attend the funeral, but I know my dad and mom were united in heaven, and that was my greatest comfort.
