Jeremiah 10:2-5

2. This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the
ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations
are terrified by them.
3. For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they
cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
4. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it
with hammer and nails so it will not totter.
5. Like a scarecrow in a melon patch, their idols
cannot speak; they must be carried because they cannot walk. Do not fear
them; they can do no harm, nor can they do any good."

2. 耶和華如此說、你們不要效法列國的行為、也不要為天象驚惶．因列國為此事驚惶。
3. 眾民的風俗是虛空的．他們在樹林中用斧子砍伐一棵樹、匠人用手工造成偶像。
4. 他們用金銀妝飾他、用釘子和錘子釘穩、使他不動搖。
5. 他好像棕樹、是鏇成的、不能說話、不能行走、必須有人抬著。你們不要怕他．他不能降禍、也無力降福。

Introduction:
1 Christmas tree is we pick out our own tree and cut it down ourselves.
2The Christmas tree is an important symbol to most people - it certainly adds
quite a bit of spirit to the home, and
the kids love it. 3 Let me say at the outset, there is certainly nothing
wrong with having a Christmas tree - I believe I have in my
home the smallest one in the city.

On the Christmas tree, most people
put the
lights, the tinsel, and all the things that go along with decorating for

becomes, for some, a time when the reality of human greed and folly mocks the
lovely sentiments of the season. But I'm not sure anyone can experience what
Christmas really means without confronting that sense of lost innocence and the

after we truly face up to Christmas without Santa can we as adults begin to
grapple with what Christmas is all about…God's gift of ultimate hope
that our human destiny is something more than a brief doomed moment in
"the benign 有益的indifference
of our world."
Pint: God made the earth and the heaven. God promises to guide you; knows your
future and will be with you all the way. The simplest person who worships God is wiser
than the wisest person who worships a worthless substitute, the man made idles;
so in what or whom do you place your trust? Jeremiah 10:1-25, mean idles did
not create the earth and heaven. They were men made, not like God who created
the earth and the heaven, including stars. … "Whoever worships
these gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish
from the earth and from under the heavens.' Jeremiah 10:10-11, …不是那創造天地的神、必從地上從天下被除滅。那拜偶像的人的命運也是滅亡。(P.1072, the Commentary of 啟導本解經)"
