前言Preface: 上帝呼召認罪乃是期望與主和好；認罪不是只在懊悔，而必改變生活的行為方式。God’s call to repentance is a message of hope and restoration; to see that repentance is more than remorse, it must lead to a change in life actions.

上週Last Week: 讀耶利米書1:1-19基督徒如何被看出神的呼召坦然為主傳福音的人。We looked at how we, as believers, are called to be God’s spokespeople in our world.   這週This Week: 這週我們繼續讀耶利米書，在此，他被上帝蒙召呼叫以色列人的認罪悔改、除偶像和信實的心，再次信服上帝，尋找真實的生活，歸回與上帝的關係。           We continue our study of the book of Jeremiah, in which he has been signed by God to call the Israelites out of their addiction by repenting of their sinful behavior and to find real life by placing their trust once again in God. Let’s read!                                             A. Jeremiah’s Assignment: Jeremiah 3:21-25        A. 耶利米的課題：耶利米書3:21-25

  1. A cry is heard on the barren heights, the weeping and pleading of the people of Israel, because they have perverted their ways and have forgotten the LORD their God.
  2. "Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding." "Yes, we will come to you, for you are the LORD our God.
  3. Surely the idolatrous commotion on the hills and mountains is a deception; surely in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel.
  4. From our youth shameful gods have consumed the fruits of our fathers' labor-- their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.

25.   Let us lie down in our shame, and let our disgrace cover us. We have sinned against the LORD our God, both we and our fathers; from our youth till this day we have not obeyed the LORD our God."                                                                    We often made mistake when we didn’t know what our parents’ wish was until we got a punishment.  So we cried, parents taught us not to do it again, forgive us, and hold us again.  Parents always taught us to correct the wrong and obey their teaching. Here, we see God’s offer for a restored relationship through Israel’s remorse and confession of their sin.                                                               The key: people turn away, but we also can turn back. I will cure you of backsliding. (V.22)That God is the Healer provides lavish hope. Verse 24-25, is declaring the world almost totally devoted to worship of the natural world and lesser gods. All of a sudden, Judah saw they had been sinning against God from the beginning—not just individual Judeans, but all Judah and Israel had “not obeyed the Lord, God.”                                                   Jeremiah predicted a day when the nation would be reunited, true worship would be reinstated, and sin would be seen for what it is.  In today’s world, most people can not see sin until they are destroyed by the sin they pursued. The advantage of believing God’s Word is that we don’t have to learn by hard experience the destructive results of sin.  Judah needed (as do we) God’s assurance.                                                        B. God’s Assurances: 耶利米書4: 1-4,        1. "If you will return, O Israel, return to me," declares the LORD. "If you put your detestable idols out of my sight and no longer go astray,” 2. and if in a truthful, just and righteous way you swear, 'As surely as the LORD lives,' then the nations will be blessed by him and in him they will glory." 3. This is what the LORD says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem: "Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns.”                                        Verse 4:2, Putting away gods who are “a deception” (3:23) is a necessary step to living in the wholeness and health of reality. Repentance benefited not just Judah. God’s blessings are for all. v.4, “heart circumcision” mean throwing out the “idols” in our lives.                                   
  1. 在淨光的高處聽見人聲、就是以色列人哭泣懇求之聲．乃因他們走彎曲之道、忘記耶和華他們的　神。
  2. 你們這背道的兒女阿、回來罷．我要醫治你們背道的病。看哪、我們來到你這裡．因你是耶和華我們的　神。
  3. 仰望從小山、或從大山的喧嚷中得幫助、真是枉然的．以色列得救、誠然在乎耶和華我們的　神。
  4. 從我們幼年以來、那可恥的偶像、將我們列祖所勞碌得來的羊群牛群、和他們的兒女、都吞喫了。
  5. 我們在羞恥中躺臥罷．願慚愧將我們遮蓋．因為從立國〔原文作幼年〕以來、我們和我們的列祖、常常得罪耶和華我們的　神、沒有聽從耶和華我們　神的話。

當我們不懂事時，常常作錯了不合乎父母的教導而被處罰，我們就大哭起來，父母總是心軟，就原諒我們、而又來抱住我們了。父母總不放棄我們的，只要我們認錯悔改聽從他們的教導。

此地，看到上帝的供應機會使以色列歸回與主關聯乃經百姓的認罪悔改。                 鑰句: v.22, 你們這背道的兒女阿、回來罷．我要醫治你們背道的病。上帝是醫治者，祂供應豐富的信心。

V.24 -25清楚的宣布這世界幾乎都在敬仰自然界和小神們。猶大國突然看到自罪自始不忠於上帝，並不只是猶大國百姓，以色列國也不忠於創物的主宰。

耶利米在此預言終有一天以色列國將會歸於統一，再次以真誠敬拜上帝並認清罪的本相。現今的世界大多數人都是被罪蒙騙，到了不能自拔的地步才開始省誤。相信上帝的道是最大的益處，就是無須從身陷入罪的慘痛的經歷中獲得教訓順。                              猶大國需要 (我們也需要) 上帝的確據。

   B. 上帝的確據: 耶利米書4: 1-4,                      1. 耶和華說、以色列阿、你若回來歸向我、若從我眼前除掉你可憎的偶像、你就不被遷移．2. 你必憑誠實、公平、公義、指著永生的耶和華起誓．列國必因耶和華稱自己為有福、也必因他誇耀。3. 耶和華對猶大和耶路撒冷人如此說、要開墾你們的荒地、不要撒種在荊棘中。

 

Verse 4:2, 除掉虛幻的偶像 (3:23)，要進入全身專住的健康實体。上帝的祝福是給我們的. Verse 4:4, “當自行割禮”、意指在生活中的心裡 污穢除 掉．歸耶和華。

 

C. Discussions: Jeremiah 4:1-4                         1. Do you think God’s forgiveness of us is dependent upon our action? Why or why not?  (God’s forgiveness is certainly unconditional and free, but we must respond to this forgiveness by allowing God to work in our lives).  2. What in your mind is the meaning of God’s call in verse 4 to “circumcise your hearts”?  

D. POINT: God knows the destructiveness of sin; therefore, He offers us abundant life (John 10:10).
