Title: Love

Scripture: 1 John 4:7, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”[1]

       約翰一書4:7　親愛的弟兄啊，我們應當彼此相愛，因為愛是從神來的。

凡有愛心的，都是由神而生，並且認識神。

Preface: The Love of humans and the Love of God are different:

The Love of Humans is incomplete love; it is self seeking (selfish love); Conditional

Love; its love has limited because nobody is perfect only God. 

The Love of God is Incomparable Love; Agape Love, it is an Unconditional Love.

When the Love of God is dwelling in your soul, it is the Holy Spirit living in you, He will

remove every root of disorder.  Your human nature sins are no

longer with you, you feel no burden.  Each day is a day of

peace, because each decision you made, you are no longer doing it alone, you have the love of God accompanying with you.

Do you want this love?  That love becomes a help to you?

4. How to do? 如何作?

Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to l_ _ d_ _n our l_ _es for our      b_ _ _ _ ers.-1 John 3:16

“主為我們__ __，我們從此就知道何為___，我們也當為___ ___捨命。” -約一3:16

Commentary:

1.        One of the Ten Commandment is Love one another.  Do you know that “Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him (1 John 3:15, 16).  Love one another bring peace and healing. Wherever has love there is light shinning.  “Whoever hates his brother is still in the darkness, and walks around in the darkness; he does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded him (1 John 2:9-11).”  And you are able to see the light if you love one another.  You will enjoy your life more than before, because everything you see or do is all done in the gentle way and the loving element.  For example, one of my students disliked to sing song during my Free English class.  I stopped it right away, not to teach songs in the English .  God opens a door for me in the El Monte Bible Class at the Senior Group.  Pastor Huang, who was leading the songs, when he first time saw me walked in to join with the Bible Study.  He invited me to take his position from the following weeks. Praise God! Thanks to Hisrighteous care.  Godled us in the gentle way and the loving element when we are facing difficulty.

2. The power source of love has been born from God: The spirit of Love is going to remove every root of bitterness from you: Wherever Love is, its own blessing and happiness, because it is the truth and reality of God in your soul; and therefore it is in the same joy of life, and it is thesame good everywhere and on every occasion.  It is this God of Love dwelling in your soul, and removing every root of bitterness, which is the pain and selfish love. .There are no suffering of darkness of life in you any more, because “God is faithful; he will not let you be temptedbeyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, hewill also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it (1 Corinthian 10:13).” This power source has been born of God (凡有愛心的，都是由神而生，並且認識神。

3. You “Know God” mean you acknowledge Him (並且認識神) 。“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (God will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:6). That is what I mentioned before; the Holy Spirit will remove every root of bitterness, which is the pain and selfish love from you.  You will be able to love others. And the most important thing is LOVE GOD. It is to love the people of God.

There was a new bride who loves her bridegroom and his family.  While she was teaching at a public school, she always made one more set of copy to take home for teaching her in-law’s children.  But the long term past, after dinner each night, this in-law used to come with her children with her own problem to visit this new groom.  They spoke their own native language from beginning to the end without considering that the teacher bride could not understand their language.  In addition, she left her children with the bride teacher to be her babysitter on Saturday.  Sometimes, she went out with the groom shopping for sofa and other furniture or looked around for properties without inviting this bride’s teacher to come together.

This mother and children took this new family’s time, energy and privacy.  Finally, the new couple almost got a divorce.  The good news was this bride teacher asked Jesus’ help, asked the Holy Spirit control of her own life, it was the God of Love dwelling into teacher’s soul; Jesus took all her jealousy, misunderstanding and the forgiveness.  She said, “Nail all my old nature hatreds; forgive them or my all misunderstanding.  Give me your love, Lord, you nail on the cross to die for the sins of human, this is complete love.  I want to have this AGAPE LOVE; I need to have God’s Love to love people as you want me to love.  Please!”

Pretty soon, God’s Love was killing every root of bitterness, which was the pain and torment (煩惱、折磨、痛苦) of every earthly, selfish love. That because of she asked Jesus come into her heart and took whole control of her life.  The Holy Spirit, God’s love dwelling in her soul.   Her groom husband agreed that to move out a little distance.  Than, she asked God again, “Thanks Lord! Please use me, now I want to help her and her family with her problem, please give me some wisdom to do what you want me to do.…”  Finally, God used her, blessed this family and gave power and wisdom to help out that sister-in-law’s problems.  Now, these two in-laws have very wonderful relationship, and so do both husbands. Praise Jesus! Glory to God! 

       4.  How do we know what to do?

      “Christ laid down hislife for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for ourbrothers (1Jn 約一. 3:16)”.So we have to practice “Christ-like” love for a particular “brother” now.

      約一3:16 “主為我們捨命，我們從此就知道何為愛，我們也當為弟兄捨命。”

We do not give up; we must acknowledge Him and ask wisdom from Him to solute it.

Conclusions:

1. Your actions are show love to each other (Psalms 97:10b)

“let us not love with words or tongue butwith actions and in truth.” (1 Jn. 約一3:18) “我們相愛，不要只在言語和舌頭上，總要在行為和誠實上。

2. Do what it says! Some of us were Christians for life but still love incompletely. Love with words or tongue not with actions, it is incompletely Love.  Bible said,

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.”

只是你們要行道，不要單單聽道，自己欺哄自己 (James雅各書1:22)。

3. “God is love.  Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him or her. (1 Jn. 約一4:16)”. Love came from God, you want to have God’s Love in order to experience a happy life, you have to know God.  By acknowledge Him is to accept Jesus in you as your personal counselor, who will dwell the Holy Spirit into your life.  He walks with you, talks with you and leading you, then you will experience a successfully daily happy life.

4. Now, you have power because the “Christ-Like” living in you.  You have peace that is the result.

5. There are three kinds of Love: Eros (Love of Husband and wife);

Previous (Parents and children’s love); Agape’s love is incomparable Love.

1. If you are to practice ‘Jesus-like’ love this week for a particular ‘brother,’ how would you show it?
2. Read: 1 John. (約一 3:15,16) “Love One Another”: What stands out to you about this love?
