The Process of Prayer

Jesus teaches His disciples The Prayer’s Guide:

1. Devotional Prayer : ‘Our Father in Heaven; May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come;

1) Life Goal – John 17:26: ‘I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.’

My Prayer: Father, please make me to love Jesus as God loves Him; And I want to love God as Jesus loves God.

2) Fruits (Character of Jesus) – Pr. 2:3-6

a) ‘3 if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, 4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

My Prayer: Dear God, please help me to have the Character of Jesus…

3) Wisdom (Mind of Jesus) – Pr.2:6; Eph.1:17; Col.1:9; Ja. 4:14; Rev.22:5

a) ‘For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.’ (Pr.2:6)

b) ‘I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit ofwisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.’ (Ep. 1:17)

My Prayer: Dear God, please give me wisdom. May I have more knowledge and understanding so that I can preach Your gospel and your glorious name.

4) Gift (Power of Jesus)

a) ‘Some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, `In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and `Because I am going to the Father’?” (Jn. 16:17)

b) ‘But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you (Jn. 16:7).

c) ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. (Ac. 2:17)

d) ‘Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow-citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, (Ep. 2:19)

e) ‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ez. 36:26)

My Prayer: Lord, please send Your Holy Spirit to me and stay with me all the time, then I will have vision to think Your plan, to do according to Your Plan and therefore, fulfill my destiny.

2. Intercessional Prayer: ‘May your Kingdom come; May your will be done on earth as in Heaven:

a) Pray for yourself; b) Pray for your family and relatives.

c) Pray for church (Pastors, Leadership’s Faithfulness)

d) Pray for nation (President, Leaders’ spiritual growth; growing in peace and harvest of City, state, nation and the international relationship very well.

My Prayer: Lord, please help me to be a peace maker…

3. Needs: Give us today the food we need: Pray for Physical health.

a) James 4:3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with

wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

a) Believe it is God’s Will to prosper you

b) My prayer must be Specific! And be consistence pray for it.

My Prayer: Be in the Will of God (Pray for life, church, my work habits, obedience in giving).

4. Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done tous: Be kind with tender heart, forgiving one another

a) Lk. 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven .

b) Mt. 18:33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow-servant just as I had on you?’

My Prayer: Lord, please help me not to judge other’s wrong doing and make it easy to forgive them for what they have done to me.

5. Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.

Put on the full armor of God: There are seven pieces of armors (Eph.6:13-18)

Prays always! My Prayer: Lord, I want to be able to stand firm for accomplishing your goal. Please put on whole armor on me -

1) With TRUTH as a belt, buckled round your waist (Eph.6:14 )

2) With RIGHTEOUSNESS as breastplate (Eph.6:14 )

3) As shoes the PREPARATION (READINESS) to announce the Good news of PEACE (Eph.6:15)

4) FAITH as a shield (Eph.6:16)

5) Arrows shot by the evil one.(Eph.6:16).

6) Accept SALVATON as a helmet (Eph.6:16).

7) The WORD OF GOD as the sword of the Spirit. (Eph.6:13-18)

Ep. 6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Ep. 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, Ep. 6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Ep. 6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Ep. 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ep. 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

6. For THINE is the Kingdom, and the power, and the Glory for ever.
