Goodness (良善)
Scriptures: Galatians: 5:22, 23; Romans12:9-21; Acts 4:36~37;11:19~24
Galatians 5:22, 23(加拉太書五22~23)
- ．．the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23,gentleness and self-control.

- 聖靈所結的果子、就是仁愛、喜樂、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信實、23, 溫柔、節制．．

PREFACE: Goodness (agathos良善或善良) is the special
character of LOVE, 「Goodness is the greatest
special character in our hearts, it is God's special character,. .」. In Matthew
5:48 says, "Be
perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father
is perfect."」
The standard of human thoughts regarding the
goodness is different, we must follow the standard of God in our
way of life and to acknowledge him, then he will
make our paths straight. to become a goodness person, strive to「Be like God」,it is impossible
to have all the God's likeness, even though we tried our best to have all our affords wanting to be like Him,
but we can only strive to be
better depending on our cooperation with the Holy Spirit which is
the inner Christians' hearts.
A. The Definitions of Goodness and the
Goodness Person良善的意義與良善的人
1. The Definitions of Goodness良善的意義
Goodness
is our inner kind of heart and generous behavior. For example, we said God is so good and He is very kind
to all of us. Read, Matthew 5:45b,
- b「He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends
rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 」 「Morning
by morning he dispenses his justice, and every new day he does not fail,
Zephaniah 3:5b 」.
Read about a kind Landowner: Matthew 20:6-11: v.6 "About the eleventh hour,
he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ''Why have
you been standing here all day long doing nothing?'' v.7 ''Because no one has
hired us,'' they answered. "He said to them, ''You also go and work in my
vineyard.'' v.8, pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and
going on to the first.'' v.9,
"The workers who were hired about the
eleventh hour came and each received a denarius.v.10-11, So when those came who were hired first,
they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. v.15, Don''t I
have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you
envious because I am generous?''
Paul said, "Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for
wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else."(Thessalonians
5:15). It meant Paul wanted us to
set a goal, become,
「Good
conduct, Good Heart, and Compassionated
Person」

45b「因為祂叫日頭照好人、也照歹人、降雨給義人、也給不義的人」. 「每早晨顯明他的公義、無日不然．西番亞書3:5b」.
馬太20:6-11: v.6,"約在酉初出去、看見還有人站在那裡．就問他們說、你們為甚麼整天在這裡閒站呢。V.7, 他們說、因為沒有人雇我們．他說、你們也進葡萄園去。v.8, 到了晚上、園主對管事的說、叫工人都來、給他們工錢、從後來的起、到先來的為止。v.9, 約在酉初雇的人來了、各人得了一錢銀子。v.10-11 ,及至那先雇的來了、他們以為必要多得．誰知也是各得一錢。他們得了、就埋怨家主…主人卻說「…因為我作好(良善) 的人,
你們就紅了眼嗎? 」(太廿15).
保羅說「你們要謹慎, 無論是誰
都不可以惡報惡;…,要追求良善」
(帖前五15).簡單的說; 保羅要我們
管在任何的環境中,立定志向,
做一位人人所公認有「好的行為,
好的心腸、好憐憫」的人.

2. The Goodness Person in the Bible 良善的人—Barnabas (巴拿巴)
1).Encouraged
all of us to remain true to the Lord with all our hearts.
(Acts11:23). 1).
巴拿巴勸眾人、定心志, 全靠主」
Barnabas was
called by people – Kindness
man.
The church of Jerusalem sent Barnabas
to do investigations. he was a Jews, a Levite; he could use the view of Jews to
pick up their faults, but he did a deep research, and sure these gentiles also
are true Christians; He encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord
with all their hearts. (Acts.11:23)
23. He encouraged them all to remain truthfull to the Lord with all
their hearts.
2).Barnabas Was A Good Man: Acts 11:24, "He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a
great number of people were brought to the Lord."
3).Barnabas Sold his Field: Acts 11:37, "Sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the
apostles feet.".

- 勸勉眾人、「立定心志, 恆久靠主」(徒十一:23)
24. 巴拿巴原是個好人、被聖靈充滿、大有信心．於是有許多人歸服了主。
3). 巴拿巴賣他的田地: 徒十一: 37, "他有田地、也賣了、把價銀拿來、放在使徒腳前。"

Barnabas was a generous
person, when the church needs money he sold his property and gave the money
to church, so, his naked name is ‘comforter'. A person wants to be a servant
of Jesus; he must be a generous man.

巴拿巴也是個實行寬宏大量的人, 當時耶路撒冷教會很需要錢,巴拿巴便賣了一塊田地,把所得的拿到使徒的腳前(徒四36~37),他們便給他起來一個名叫「勸慰子」(安慰的人).一個人若要或為耶穌的僕人, 他一是要寬大為懷.

B. The Goodness
Christians（Good Action好行為、Good Conscience好心腸、Good Mercy好憐憫）
1. The Goodness
Action - Good Conduct 1. 良善的行為—是好行為
We must strive to let others to see our
kindness, good actions, in order to 「glorify our Father in heaven」Christians
should understand the truth, be able to
adjust themselves become the well respected (Goodness) Christians.
2. The Goodness Conscience: Acts. 24:16, "Always strive to keep my conscience clear before God and
man." Negative: Goodness has
no bad heart; Positive: Goodness is kind heart toward to
others. Christians must have pure and good thinking to treat people. As Paul
said, always strive to keep our conscience clear before God and man. This
conduct needs help from the Holy Spirit.

2. 良善的心思—好心腸 (徒廿四16).
" 勉勵自己、對 神、對人、常存無虧的良心。"
良善,消極的意義是指沒有壞心眼,而
積極的意義則是心存善意待人.人的處事常 存詭詐、虛假和陰險,但基督徒要心存純潔良善的心思,去待人處事.良善的行為若不是出於良善的動機和心思,就是「偽君子」,「假冒為善」.保羅的勸勉「…,
對人常存無愧的良心」這種良善,就需要聖靈的幫助了

3. The Goodness Requirement to Have Mercy Heart (Micah 6:8)
良善的要求是「好憐憫」(彌六8),
God has showed you, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? 「To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8 」 「Mercy」(New translation is to perform love to others with
no changing) . It is God required his people should not change his right
attitude and mind. True mercy heart toward others. For example:
A good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-35--
Luke 10: 30-35. In reply Jesus said: "A man
was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho,
when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes,
beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.
V, 31, A priest happened to be going down the same road,
and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. V.32, So too, a Levite,
when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
V.33, But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he
saw him, he took pity on him.
V.34, He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then
he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. V.35, The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the
innkeeper. ''Look after him,'' he said, ''and when I return, I will reimburse
you for any extra expense you may have.''

"耶和華已指示你何為善。他向你所要的是甚麼呢? 「只要你行公義、好憐憫、存謙卑的心、與你的 神同行 (彌六8。」
「好憐憫」(新譯; 實行不變的愛),是上帝要求衪的百姓的動機和態度.以不變的愛待人, 真心憐憫窮乏, 遭難的人.耶穌講一個極動人的故事-好的撒瑪利亞人, 救助猶太的客旅; 耶穌要求有更多的好撒瑪利亞人; 好憐憫, 以真心憐憫遭遇困難的好(良善)人.
例如:好撒瑪利亞人 記載在路加十章三十 至三十五節.
路加
10: 30-35, "v 30, 耶穌回答說、 有一個人從耶路撒冷下耶利哥去、落在強盜手中、他們剝去他的衣裳、把他打個半死、就丟下他走了。
- 偶然有一個祭司、從這條路下來．看見他就從那邊過去了。
- 又有一個利未人、來到這地方、看見他、也照樣從那邊過去了。
- 惟有一個撒瑪利亞人、行路來到那裡．看見他就動了慈心、
- 上前用油和酒倒在他的傷處、包裹好了、扶他騎上自己的牲口、帶到店裡去照應他。
- 第二天拿出二錢銀子來、交給店主說、你且照應他．此外所費用的、我回來必還你。

C. How
easy it is to have Good Conduct, Good Conscience and Mercy
Heart in our Christian walk?
1. Things are right or wrong from God's view point
In normal
situation, the Conscience
standard way of people's judgment is either right
or wrong and they are different; praise
God gave each of us have conscience
heart that help us to know
right and wrong, to correct our wrong
into right conduct. Think about
the view point of God to decide right or wrong. Psalmist
said,「I have hidden your word in my heart that I
might not sin against you.(我將你的話藏在我心裡,免得我得罪你) (Psalms 詩119:11) 」.If we study bible daily to make a right conscience,
we will have well respected by people
because of goodness of Good
Conduct, Conscience and Mercy Hearted in our daily walk, we are good Christians.
2. Pure hearted, clear minded and adjust self
action淨化心思、調整自己的行為
Feedback
self behavior daily, pray always to seek the Will of God and get rid of wrong thought. Using our time wisely to
feedback our behavior, desire and our languages;
also following the psalmists said in Psalms 139:23, 24「 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (上帝啊! 求你鑒 察我, 知道我的心思, 試煉我, 知道我的意念.
看在我裡面, 有什麼惡行沒有, 引導我 走永生的道路」應當藉著自我反省的工夫, 來淨化自己的心思, 修整自己的行為. Spend
time feedback to Pure our hearts,
clear our minds and adjust our actions.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit's help祈求聖靈的幫助
- I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful
nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it
out. - For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not
want to do--this I keep on doing. - Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do
it, but it is sin living in me that does it. - So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right
there with me. - For in my inner being I delight in God''s law;
- but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging
war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of
sin at work within my members. - What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of
death? - Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I
myself in my mind am a slave to God''s law, but in the sinful nature a
slave to the law of sin.

- 我也知道、在我裡頭、就是我肉體之中、沒有良善．因為立志為善由得我、只是行出來由不得我。
- 故此、我所願意的善、我反不作．我所不願意的惡、我倒去作。
- 若我去作所不願意作的、就不是我作的、乃是住在我裡頭的罪作的。
- 我覺得有個律、就是我願意為善的時候、便有惡與我同在
- 因為按著我裡面的意思。〔原文作人〕我是喜歡 神的律．
- 但我覺得肢體中另有個律、和我心中的律交戰、把我擄去叫我附從那肢體中犯罪的律。
- .我真是苦阿、誰能救我脫離這取死的身體呢。
- 感謝 神、靠著我們的主耶穌基督就能脫離了。這樣看來、我以內心順服 神的律．我肉體卻順服罪的律了。

Paul was very
sad to say,「In my inner being I delight in God's
law, …when I want to do good, evil is right there with me… what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to
do--this I keep on doing. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? We thanks to God--through
Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God''s law, 感謝上帝, 靠著我們的主耶穌基督就能脫離了」 (Romans
7:25羅七18~25).
Ask the Holy Spirit's help each day, we
can become Good Conduct, Good Conscience and Good Mercy Hearted
in our Christian walk, so that we will become well respected by people.
祈求聖靈的幫助每日我們若肯藉著禱 告上帝, 真誠的祈求聖靈的保守與支持, 我們 必能成為有「好行為、好心腸、好憐憫」人人所敬重、欽佩的好(良善)基督徒.
Conclusion: (Matthew 7:17-20.太七17-20).
Jesus said,「Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad
tree bears bad fruit. v.18, a good tree cannot bear bad
fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. v.19, every tree that does not bear
good fruit is to be cut down and thrown into the fire. v.20, thus, by their fruit you
will recognize them.」
Therefore,
your will is to do good things and to show Good Conduct, Good Conscience
and Good Mercy Hearted Christians, and well respected by everybody, this is our goal to bear good
fruits.
. 這樣, 凡好樹都結好果子,
惟獨壞村結壞果子. 好樹不能告壞果子, 壞樹不能結好果 子…. 所以, 憑單他們的果子就可以認出他們來」立志做一個有「好行為、好心 腸」人人所敬重、欽佩的 好(良善)基督徒. 這是我們所當有的立志,
所當結出的 果子.
Prayer:
「Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ
and through us spreads
everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
For we are to God the
aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.」2
Corinthians 2:14,15

· 感謝 神、常帥領我們在基督裡誇勝、並藉著我們在各處顯揚那因認識基督而有的香氣。
· 因為我們在 神面前、無論在得救的人身上、或滅亡的人身上、都有基督馨香之氣。
最令人信服的證據是基督活著，並且祂在祂的百姓身上彰顯自己得勝的作為。有基督的馨香之氣，是何等地榮幸！藉著擁有基督的馨香之氣，他人可以知道基督擁有戰勝罪惡、改變人生命的大能。我們的生命應該是使人信服的確據，使人看到神今日仍在祂百姓身上行大能的作為。
