11. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.

12. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything to stand.

Commentary of Ephesians 6:10-13, Paul has already made it clear that Christ has gained victory over every spiritual power. On the cross, Christ conquered sin and evil. However, Paul urges his readers to be on their guard and well-armed when they encounter the enemy and the forces of evil. God gives us all we need to engage our enemies. He supplies ¡§the full armor¡¨-   the offensive weapons used by heavily armed soldiers. Both 6:10 and 13 explain the purpose of armor: so, you may have the power you need to resist the enemy. Perseverance is essential for final salvation. This is not a private battle. Ancient soldiers did not fight alone; they stood in formation together to prevent opponents from breaking through their lines. Paul believed the real threat believers faced was not weak human beings, but¡§the devils scheme¡¨. The threat of evil, however we conceive it is a clear and present danger. To avoid defeat, we must take the powers of ¡§this dark world¡¨ seriously. 13. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, we may be able to stand our ground, and after we have done everything, to stand.  (Eph. 6:13).

14. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15. and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Commentary of Ephesians from p.2541 of N.I.V.:  6:10-17, In the Christian life we battle against rulers and authorities (the powerful evil forces of fallen angels headed by Satan, who is a vicious fighter, see 1 Petr 5:8).  To withstand their attacks, we must depend on God¡¦s strength and use every piece of his armor. Paul is not only giving this counsel to the church, the body of Christ, but to all individuals within the church. The whole body needs to be armed. As you do battle against ¡§the powers of this dark world,¡¨ fight in the strength of the church, whose power comes from the Holy Spirit.

3.  Never Stop Praying: Eph.:6:18-20    18.  And pray in the Spirit on all   occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.                                                     19. Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,        20. for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Commentary of Ephesians 6:18-20, from N.I.V.p.2542,                                               1. We response to every situation we   throughout the day to take a brief prayers.                                                         2. Ordering our life around God¡¦s desires and teachings so that our very life becomes a prayer.                                                       3. We can make prayer for our life and our life a prayer while living in a world that needs God powerful influence. Praying for the Christians we know and for the church around the world.                                         4.  Paul wrote powerful letters of encouragement from prison. He did not ask the Ephesians to pray that his chains would be removed. God can use us in any circumstance to do his will. Even as we pray for a change in our circumstances, we should also pray that God will accomplish his plan through us right where we are; knowing God¡¦s eternal purpose for us will help us through the difficult times.

5. Commentary from ¡§the Faith Connection¡¨: p.83, All of life must be bathed in prayer. ¡§All kinds of prayers¡¨ include expressions of thanksgiving and praise, confessions of faith or failure, requests and intercession. Our prayers should be unceasing, fervent, comprehensive, guided by the Holy Spirit, alert to needs around us, and persistent.

4. CONCLUSION:                                         1) Seek God¡¦s Mighty Power: 6:10-13,      We need the power of God and His protection.  Paul says for us to put on the ¡§full¡¨ armor of God at all time.                                                2) Stand Firm Against Evil:  6:14-17,   Truth,   which holds everything in its place, righteousness, that guards the vital organs, readiness, for the feet to share the good news of peace to the world, faith, which believes in things not yet seen and through which the arrows of doubt cannot penetrate,  salvation, which keeps us from losing our head, and the Word of the Lord, which is only offensive weapon of the bunch.                                        3)  Never Stop Praying: Eph.6:18-20, Pray on  ¡§all occasions¡¨ with ¡§all kinds¡¨ of prayers, praying for ¡§all¡¨ of God¡¦s people. Prayer is a lifestyle, facilitated by the Spirit in v.18.
