At the closing ceremony of the 2019 Summer Universiade which took place in Naples, Italy, on the evening of July 14 (local time), Chengdu, the host city of the next edition of the sports extravaganza for young people around the world, received the Universiade flag from Naples.

Mr. Luo Qiang, Mayor of Chengdu, on behalf of the Chengdu Municipal Government, addressed the event, extending heartfelt respect and warm congratulations to the Naples organizing committee of the 30th Summer Universiade, FISU, as well as all college athletes, coaches, referees, staffs and volunteers of the 2019 Summer Universiade. He welcomed, with genuine enthusiasm, people all over the globe to Chengdu in 2021. "We will do our best to present a wonderful and successful Universiade with international standards, Chinese style and Chengdu characteristics. The 16 million Chengdu citizens warmly welcome you and see you in Chengdu in 2021!"

At the closing ceremony, more than 100 artists and performers from Chengdu, including singers Mr. Liao Changyong and Miss Li Yuchun, put on an impressive show featuring Chengdu culture.
